Summary

This 2022 Mitsubishi Attrage GLX Highline is a prime example of the ultimate GCC city commuter, balancing modern 2021-facelift styling with class-leading efficiency. At four years old with under 50,000 km, its mileage is significantly lower than the regional average for a car of this age, ensuring many years of dependable service ahead. The Grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the region, effectively masking desert dust while maintaining a professional look. As a Highline trim, it bridges the gap between basic utility and modern convenience with essential tech upgrades. For the UAE or wider GCC buyer, this car represents the most cost-effective path to reliable daily transport with a support network available in every major city.

This Car vs Other 2022 Attrages

With only 49,558 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven roughly 12,000 km per year, which is nearly half the 20,000–25,000 km typically seen for commuters in the GCC. This lower usage means less wear on the suspension and cooling systems, both of which are critical for long-term health in high-temperature environments. The Grey finish further enhances its value as one of the most resilient and sought-after colors for maintaining a clean appearance in the local climate.

GLX HIGHLINE vs Lower Trims

The GLX Highline trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the base GLX by adding a 7-inch Smartphone-Link Display Audio system with integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Beyond tech, this trim features 15-inch alloy wheels and a rearview camera, providing both a more premium aesthetic and increased safety during tight urban parking. These specific additions are highly valued in the GCC used market, often commanding a quicker sale and better price retention than base-specification models.

Attrage vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Toyota Yaris or Nissan Sunny, the Attrage leads the segment in outright maneuverability with a turning circle of just 4.8 meters, making it the easiest sedan to park in crowded areas like Deira or Riyadh’s city center. While rivals often prioritize slightly larger engines, the Attrage focuses on a lightweight chassis that delivers a best-in-class fuel economy of 4.8 L/100km. Its 450-litre boot space also surprisingly rivals larger cars, offering more practical cargo room than many sub-compact competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs for the Attrage are among the lowest in the region, with its 1.2L engine designed for maximum efficiency in stop-start traffic and a 42-litre tank that provides exceptional range for its size. Mitsubishi maintains one of the most extensive authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts are affordable and readily available. Historically, Japanese compact sedans like the Attrage retain roughly 70-80% of their value after three years in the GCC, making this a low-depreciation investment for cost-conscious drivers.

Performance & Capability

The 1.2-litre MIVEC engine is tuned for urban agility, delivering smooth and predictable power through an INVECS-III CVT automatic transmission that eliminates traditional gear-shift shock. While built for efficiency, the car’s lightweight construction allows it to feel responsive during city lane changes and highway merging. Its aerodynamic design, boasting a drag coefficient of 0.29, helps maintain stability and fuel economy even during long-distance drives across the Emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Attrage Highline offers a 'people-first' cabin with ergonomic seating for five and a powerful air conditioning system specifically engineered to handle 45°C+ summer peaks. The Highline trim adds steering wheel-mounted audio and phone controls, allowing the driver to stay connected without distraction. Thoughtful storage solutions, including front and rear cupholders and a convenient shopping bag hook, make it a highly practical environment for small families and daily professionals alike.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this trim includes an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) to ensure stable stopping power regardless of passenger load. It is equipped with dual front SRS airbags and a reinforced RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) body construction that uses high-tensile steel for better occupant protection. The inclusion of a rearview camera and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) provides additional peace of mind for safe daily operation in fast-moving highway traffic.

The bottom line

This Attrage is the perfect match for a savvy commuter looking for a low-mileage, high-spec Japanese sedan that is exceptionally cheap to run and easy to park in any GCC city.
