Summary

This 2023 Mitsubishi Attrage GLX Highline offers a compelling combination of late-model reliability and exceptional running costs. With 58,000 km, its mileage sits slightly above the typical UAE annual average but remains well within the expected limits for a vehicle favored by long-distance commuters. The Grey exterior is a versatile, high-demand color in the GCC that resists visible dust and maintains strong resale value compared to bolder hues. As the top-tier Highline trim, it delivers the essential tech and comfort features that set it apart from basic rental-fleet versions. For a GCC buyer, the standout factor is the legendary fuel efficiency and robust air conditioning that easily handles the region's extreme summer heat.

This Car vs Other 2023 Attrages

While many Attrages on the market have been used in demanding delivery or commercial fleets, this specific unit presents as a well-maintained personal commuter. Its 58,000 km mileage reflects the typical highway-heavy driving found in the UAE, ensuring the engine has mostly run at optimal operating temperatures. The Grey metallic finish is a strategic choice for the region, offering a sophisticated look while holding its value significantly better than non-metallic or niche colors.

GLX HIGHLINE vs Lower Trims

The GLX Highline trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the base GLX by adding a 7-inch Smartphone-Link Display Audio system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You also benefit from 15-inch alloy wheels, a rearview camera for easier parking in tight city spots, and cruise control, which is essential for the long stretches between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. These features are highly prized by second-hand buyers, ensuring this car will be easier to trade in later.

Attrage vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Yaris and Nissan Sunny, the Attrage leads the segment in outright fuel economy, often achieving nearly 21 km/L in real-world highway conditions. While rivals may offer larger engines, the Attrage’s 450-litre boot space is surprisingly competitive, offering more cargo depth than many cars in the class above. Its compact turning radius of just 4.8 metres makes it the superior choice for navigating dense urban areas like Deira or Riyadh’s city center.

Running Costs & Resale

Operating an Attrage is among the most affordable automotive experiences in the GCC, with a combined fuel consumption of approximately 4.8 to 5.2 L/100km. Maintenance is straightforward and inexpensive, with service intervals typically every 5,000 or 10,000 km across a massive network of authorized centers like Al Habtoor in the UAE or Alissa in Saudi Arabia. The Attrage experiences a lower-than-average annual depreciation of about 10%, as demand for fuel-efficient Japanese sedans remains constant in the local used market.

Performance & Capability

The 1.2-litre MIVEC engine is tuned for efficiency rather than raw speed, delivering a verified 78 horsepower that is perfectly adequate for urban commuting and steady highway cruising. It reaches a top speed of 170 km/h, and its lightweight construction helps it feel nimble in stop-start traffic. The INVECS-III CVT transmission is specifically calibrated to keep the engine in its most efficient power band, providing a smooth, shift-free driving experience during long cross-country drives.

Comfort & Cabin

Despite its compact exterior, the Attrage features a 'people first' design with impressive rear legroom that can comfortably accommodate three passengers. The air conditioning system is a specific highlight, engineered for GCC specs to provide rapid cooling even when the car has been parked in 45°C sunlight. The Highline trim's fabric seats are durable and breathable, which is a major comfort advantage over leather in the intense summer heat of the Gulf.

Safety

Safety is managed by Mitsubishi's Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body construction, which effectively absorbs and disperses energy during an impact. This trim comes standard with dual front SRS airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). These features provide essential peace of mind on the fast-moving multi-lane highways common across the UAE and the wider region.

The bottom line

Perfect for the budget-conscious professional or a first-time buyer in the UAE, this Attrage Highline offers modern connectivity and class-leading economy in a reliable Japanese package. It is the most sensible way to beat rising fuel costs without sacrificing the peace of mind that comes with a GCC-spec vehicle.
