Summary

This 2022 Mitsubishi Pajero GLS Highline is a quintessential choice for GCC drivers, offering a proven mix of durability and 7-seater practicality. As a Highline trim, it features premium touches like leather upholstery and a sunroof, which are highly sought after in the local used market. With a white exterior—the most temperature-efficient and resale-friendly color in the region—this vehicle is perfectly suited for both urban commutes and desert weekends. Its moderate mileage reflects a balanced history of use, ensuring it remains a reliable partner for years to come. In a market where newer SUVs often trade ruggedness for complexity, this Pajero stands out for its mechanical honesty and robust build.

This Car vs Other 2022 Pajeros

With 68,000 km on the odometer, this Pajero has been driven roughly 22,000 km per year, which aligns perfectly with the GCC average for family SUVs. Many comparable 2022 models in the UAE market carry higher mileage due to frequent inter-emirate travel, making this a well-preserved example. The white exterior is the top-performing color for maintaining value and managing cabin heat during the peak summer months.

GLS HIGHLINE vs Lower Trims

The Highline trim elevates the Pajero experience with essential comfort features over the standard GLS, including leather seating, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a sunroof. It also integrates a more advanced infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and a rear-view camera, making it significantly more desirable for family use than the base velour-trimmed models.

Pajero vs Segment Rivals

The Pajero competes directly with the Toyota Prado and Nissan Pathfinder, leading with a distinct value-for-money proposition in terms of standard 4x4 hardware. While many rivals have moved to car-based platforms, the Pajero retains its off-road DNA with a low-range transfer case. Its massive 88-litre fuel tank also provides superior highway range for long-distance desert crossings compared to smaller-tank crossovers.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.0L V6 typically averages between 12 and 13.5 L/100km in mixed GCC driving conditions. Maintenance is exceptionally convenient, with an authorized service network spanning every major city in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. The Pajero is legendary for its low depreciation rates in the local market, typically retaining more value after three years than its American or European counterparts.

Performance & Capability

The 184 hp V6 engine provides reliable power, but the Pajero's true strength lies in its Super Select 4WD-II system, which allows for shifting between 2WD and 4WD at speeds up to 100 km/h. Its generous ground clearance and heavy-duty suspension are specifically designed to handle the varied terrain of the region, from soft dunes to gravel wadis. This mechanical simplicity ensures it remains one of the few SUVs that can be serviced easily across the entire GCC.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for family life in the heat, featuring a powerful dual-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents for all three rows. The 7-seat configuration is highly flexible, allowing the third row to fold flat or be removed entirely to maximize boot space. Acoustic glass and improved insulation help keep the interior quiet during high-speed highway cruises between cities.

Safety

This trim comes standard with a comprehensive safety suite including multiple airbags, Active Stability and Traction Control (ASTC), and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). These systems are vital for maintaining control on sandy road shoulders or during sudden stops in fast-moving highway traffic. Rear parking sensors and a camera further assist in navigating the Pajero’s full-size footprint in tight urban spaces.

The bottom line

For a buyer seeking a no-nonsense, 7-seater SUV with genuine off-road capability and the best resale security in the UAE, this Pajero GLS Highline is the ideal opportunity.
