Mitsubishi Xpander HIGH LINE

• 4.4 L/100km combined (manufacturer-official)
• 225 mm ground clearance
• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This GCC-spec Mitsubishi Xpander is a practical choice for growing families in the region, offering seven seats in a fuel-efficient and high-clearance package. The High Line trim ensures you get the most premium features available for this model year, while the grey exterior is ideal for heat reflection and strong resale value in the local market. With its current mileage, this vehicle has been driven at a typical regional average, suggesting it has spent much of its life on the UAE’s well-maintained highway network. It stands out in the segment for its SUV-like stance while maintaining the low running costs of a compact city car. For any buyer looking for reliable inter-emirate transport with a massive service network, this is one of the most sensible family options available.

This Car vs Other 2022 Xpanders

With 85,000 km, this vehicle sits at a standard regional average of roughly 28,000 km per year, which is typical for family cars used for daily commuting and school runs between Dubai and Sharjah. The grey paintwork is a significant advantage in the GCC, as it balances heat resistance with high demand in the used car market. As a GCC-spec model, it retains full compatibility with authorized regional service centers, a key factor for long-term value.

HIGH LINE vs Lower Trims

The High Line trim elevates the cabin with upgraded upholstery, cruise control, and a more sophisticated multi-information display compared to the Medium Line. It also features a larger touchscreen infotainment system and a rear-view camera, which are essential for navigating tight parking spaces in modern GCC malls. Externally, the High Line is distinguished by its 16-inch alloy wheels and T-shaped LED daytime running lights.

Xpander vs Segment Rivals

The Xpander leads the Toyota Rush and Suzuki Ertiga when it comes to ground clearance, offering 225 mm that provides a better field of view and superior protection against high speed bumps. While rivals focus on traditional MPV styling, the Mitsubishi offers a more modern 'Dynamic Shield' design that mimics a rugged SUV. Its fuel tank capacity and class-leading economy make it a more efficient choice for long desert highway drives.

Running Costs & Resale

The 1.5L engine is remarkably efficient, with a manufacturer-official combined rating of 4.4 L/100km, though real-world GCC city driving typically sees between 7.7 and 9.0 L/100km. Maintenance is straightforward and affordable, with service intervals recommended every 10,000 km at authorized centers like Al Habtoor. Mitsubishi maintains a strong 8-10% annual depreciation rate in the UAE, ensuring it holds its value better than many European alternatives.

Performance & Capability

Producing 103 hp, the Xpander is tuned for smoothness and reliability rather than outright speed, achieving 0-100 km/h in approximately 14.5 seconds. Its 225 mm ground clearance is a segment-leading figure, allowing for confident navigation of lightly flooded roads or gravel tracks during weekend family outings. The 4-speed automatic transmission is fine-tuned to handle the extreme summer temperatures of the GCC without overheating during long highway stints.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout is highly flexible, featuring second-row seats that slide and recline to maximize legroom for adult passengers. Crucially for the GCC climate, the cabin is equipped with a high-capacity air conditioning system and dedicated rear cooling vents to keep all three rows comfortable in 45°C+ heat. Extensive soundproofing and noise-absorbing materials in the floor and roof ensure a quiet environment even at highway speeds.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this trim includes dual front SRS airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Active Stability Control. The RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) body construction provides a high level of occupant protection, which earned the model a 4-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating. Hill Start Assist is also standard, preventing the car from rolling back when starting on the inclines of multi-story parking garages.

The bottom line

Perfect for families needing reliable seven-seat capacity on a budget, this High Line model offers the best available spec with the security of a full GCC-authorized service history.
