Summary

This Nissan Sunny SV is a premier example of why this model dominates the regional compact sedan market. With its silver exterior—a top-performing resale color in the GCC due to its heat-reflective properties—and mid-range trim level, it strikes a perfect balance between modern technology and practical efficiency. The GCC specification ensures the cooling system and engine are purpose-built to handle the intense local summer heat. Compared to its rivals, the Sunny offers surprising interior volume and a reputation for mechanical durability that keeps it in high demand on the secondary market. For the daily commuter or small family, this is a turnkey solution designed specifically for the unique driving landscape of the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2022 Sunnys

At 84,748 km, this vehicle sits slightly above the global average but remains well within the typical 20,000–25,000 km per year expected for highway commuters in the GCC. The silver finish is a significant advantage for local resale, remaining the second most sought-after color in the UAE for its ability to mask desert dust and reflect solar heat.

SV vs Lower Trims

The SV trim elevates the driving experience over the base S model by adding a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Additionally, it features upgraded 15-inch wheels and premium cloth upholstery, providing a more refined cabin environment that is essential for comfort during longer inter-emirate journeys.

Sunny vs Segment Rivals

The Sunny leads its primary rivals, the Toyota Yaris and Hyundai Accent, in terms of sheer trunk practicality with a 482-litre capacity. While competitors focus on urban agility, the Sunny’s suspension is specifically tuned for a smoother ride on the long, flat highways connecting Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and the Northern Emirates.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel efficiency is a hallmark of the 1.5L powertrain, delivering roughly 5.7 L/100km in mixed driving, which translates to massive savings in stop-start city traffic. As a GCC-spec Nissan, it benefits from one of the most comprehensive authorized service networks in the region, ensuring parts are affordable and readily available. The Sunny holds its value exceptionally well, typically depreciating at a slower rate than its European counterparts in the UAE market.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine is engineered for reliability and smooth power delivery rather than raw speed, making it perfectly suited for the 120–140 km/h cruising speeds typical of UAE motorways. The automatic transmission is tuned for efficiency, ensuring the car remains in the optimal power band during highway overtaking. Its front-wheel-drive configuration and tight turning circle make it equally adept at navigating crowded urban parking structures.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Sunny offers class-leading rear legroom, comfortably accommodating three adults or providing ample space for child seats. The air conditioning system is a high-output unit designed for the GCC, reaching cabin-wide cooling rapidly even after the car has been parked in direct sun. Thoughtful storage touches, including multiple USB ports and a 60/40 split-folding rear bench, enhance daily utility for family errands or grocery runs.

Safety

Standard safety features on this SV trim include dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). It also features Hill Start Assist and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), providing essential stability when navigating the sandy shoulders or wet roads occasionally encountered during the winter season.

The bottom line

This 2022 Sunny SV is the ideal choice for a savvy buyer who prioritizes low running costs and high resale potential in a modern, tech-equipped package.
