Summary

This 2022 Peugeot 3008 Active offers a distinctive European alternative to the traditional compact SUV segment, blending sharp French design with practical family utility. Finished in a professional black that holds its value well in the GCC market, it serves as a sophisticated urban commuter. The 1.6-litre turbocharged engine provides a punchy yet efficient drive, ideal for balancing Dubai’s city traffic with weekend highway trips to the Northern Emirates. With its signature i-Cockpit interior and modern tech suite, this model stands out for its cabin quality and ergonomics. For the GCC buyer, it represents a well-specced, late-model crossover that feels more premium than its price point suggests.

This Car vs Other 2022 3008s

With 107,059 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven roughly 26,000 km per year, which aligns with the typical high-mileage highway usage seen in the UAE. This level of activity often indicates the car was used for cross-emirate commutes, which is generally better for the engine and transmission than stop-start city driving. The black exterior is a high-demand choice in the local market, ensuring strong interest and easier resale compared to niche colors.

ACTIVE vs Lower Trims

The Active trim serves as a well-appointed entry point that avoids the 'base model' feel. It includes the signature 8-inch capacitive touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, along with 17-inch alloy wheels and the innovative 12.3-inch digital head-up instrument panel. While higher trims add leather and panoramic roofs, the Active trim focuses on core GCC priorities like dual-zone climate control and a comprehensive airbag suite.

3008 vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the Hyundai Tucson or Kia Sportage, the 3008 leads with its more premium interior materials and avant-garde cockpit design. Its 1.6L turbocharged engine offers a more engaging torque delivery than the naturally aspirated units found in base-level Japanese and Korean competitors. While rivals focus on sheer volume, the Peugeot provides a unique European driving dynamic and a 520-litre boot that is highly competitive for its class.

Running Costs & Resale

The 1.6T engine is known for its efficiency, achieving approximately 15.1 km/L under combined driving conditions, making it an economical choice for long-distance highway travel. Peugeot has a well-established authorized service network across the UAE and the wider GCC, ensuring parts availability. While European brands typically depreciate slightly faster than Japanese rivals in this market, the 3008’s high local popularity and unique design help it maintain a loyal buyer base.

Performance & Capability

The 165 hp 1.6-litre turbocharged engine is a versatile performer, delivering 240 Nm of torque for effortless highway overtaking. It achieves a 0-100 km/h sprint in roughly 8.9 seconds, providing plenty of agility for navigating busy multi-lane roads. As a front-wheel-drive crossover, it is optimized for paved surfaces and light gravel, offering a refined ride that absorbs road imperfections typical of urban construction zones.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the i-Cockpit layout places all controls within easy reach, centered around a compact leather steering wheel that makes the SUV feel more maneuverable. The dual-zone automatic climate control is specifically engineered to handle the extreme GCC summer heat, with dedicated rear vents ensuring all five passengers remain comfortable. Acoustic insulation is a high point for this model, keeping the cabin quiet during high-speed highway cruising.

Safety

Standard safety features on the Active trim include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and emergency brake assist. For highway safety, it features cruise control with a speed limiter and rear parking sensors to assist in tight city spaces. The 3008 platform carries a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, providing peace of mind for family buyers prioritizing structural integrity and passenger protection.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants a modern, stylish SUV that breaks away from the ordinary, this GCC-spec 3008 Active is a smart, tech-forward opportunity in the 4-year-old used market.
