Summary

This Peugeot 3008 GT Line stands out as a tech-forward family choice, specifically for those who value European cabin design and a high standard equipment list in the UAE market. While the mileage reflects typical highway-heavy GCC usage for an 8-year-old vehicle, the 1.6L turbocharged engine provides a refined balance of efficiency and overtaking power. The Black exterior remains one of the top three resale colors in the region, helping to offset the steeper depreciation typically seen with European crossovers compared to Japanese rivals. For a used buyer, the GT Line trim is the most desirable variant, offering a significantly more premium interior feel than the base models. It is an ideal daily commuter for those navigating between Emirates who want more character than a standard segment rival.

This Car vs Other 2018 3008s

At 235,000 km, this vehicle sits at the higher end of the average 20,000–25,000 km per year typically seen in the GCC, suggesting a life primarily spent on long-distance highways. For an 8-year-old car, this often means fewer cold starts and less suspension wear than a city-bound equivalent. The Black paint is a major asset for resale in the local market, consistently ranking as a high-demand choice for used buyers.

GT LINE vs Lower Trims

The GT Line significantly elevates the 3008 experience over the Allure and Active trims by adding full LED 'Lion Claw' headlights and the sophisticated i-Cockpit Amplify system. GCC buyers will particularly appreciate the addition of a 360-degree camera and a more advanced safety suite, including active blind-spot monitoring which is essential for fast-moving UAE highway traffic. Interior upgrades like the sports steering wheel and premium upholstery offer a luxury feel that base trims lack.

3008 vs Segment Rivals

When cross-shopped against the Kia Sportage or Nissan Qashqai, the 3008 leads with its avant-garde interior design and 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, which feels more premium than its Japanese or Korean counterparts. While rivals may offer larger service networks, the 3008 provides a 520-liter boot that is more versatile for family shopping trips than the Qashqai. Its turbocharged 1.6L engine also delivers more low-end torque for smoother highway merging compared to the naturally aspirated engines found in entry-level rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

The 1.6L THP engine is optimized for fuel efficiency, achieving approximately 6.0L/100km on the combined cycle, making it a cost-effective choice for daily commuting. Service intervals in the GCC are typically recommended every 10,000 km, with a well-established network of authorized service centers and specialized European car garages available across the UAE. While European crossovers depreciate faster than brands like Toyota, the GT Line's high equipment levels help it retain value better than lower-spec Peugeot models.

Performance & Capability

The turbocharged engine produces 165 hp and 240 Nm of torque, allowing for a 0–100 km/h time of 9.0 seconds and a top speed of 205 km/h. This power is delivered through a smooth 6-speed automatic transmission, well-suited for the steady speeds of GCC highways. Though strictly a front-wheel-drive crossover, its ground clearance is sufficient for navigating gravel tracks and sandy parking areas common at weekend beach destinations.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a highlight of the GCC ownership experience, featuring the Peugeot i-Cockpit with a small-diameter steering wheel and high-mounted digital dials. Dual-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents ensures the interior remains cool during extreme summer temperatures. The 520-liter boot expands to 1,670 liters with the 'Magic Flat' rear seats folded, providing ample space for bulkier items or sports equipment.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on the GT Line includes a comprehensive ADAS suite with Active Safety Brake, Lane Departure Warning, and Driver Attention Alert. For the GCC driver, the active blind-spot monitoring and 360-degree 'VisioPark' camera provide critical assistance during lane changes and parking in tight urban spaces. The vehicle also features six airbags and electronic stability control as standard, ensuring a high level of protection for all five occupants.

The bottom line

For the buyer seeking European flair and premium cabin technology without a luxury-brand price tag, this GT Line offers the best of Peugeot's 2018 lineup. It is a smart choice for a family or commuter who values feature-rich safety and a stylish presence on UAE roads.
