Summary

This 2022 Porsche Taycan 4S is a standout opportunity for GCC buyers, combining ultra-modern performance with a mileage profile that is remarkably low for its 4-year age in the local market. Finished in high-resale Grey, this GCC-spec sedan offers a significant advantage over imported equivalents in terms of both regional software compatibility and long-term value retention. As the 4S trim, it provides the perfect middle ground between the base model and the Turbo, delivering 500 hp and the highly desirable Performance Battery Plus. For the discerning driver in the UAE or across the GCC, this represents an elite entry into the EV segment with Porsche's legendary handling dynamics and class-leading charging speeds. It remains one of the few electric vehicles capable of handling repeated high-speed highway runs between emirates without compromising on cabin comfort or technical refinement.

This Car vs Other 2022 Taycans

With only 43,180 km on the odometer, this Taycan 4S has been driven significantly less than the 80,000 to 100,000 km typically seen on 4-year-old executive sedans in the GCC. Its Grey exterior is a top-tier choice for the local market, ensuring stronger resale demand compared to bolder, niche colors. This low-mileage status, combined with the security of GCC specifications, makes it one of the most mechanically sound EV prospects currently available in the region.

4S vs Lower Trims

Moving up from the base Taycan to the 4S adds a front electric motor for a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system and a substantial power jump to 500 hp. This trim also includes adaptive air suspension as standard, providing a much more composed ride over varying road surfaces compared to the steel-spring setup on lower variants. GCC buyers specifically benefit from the upgraded Performance Battery Plus, which extends range for cross-emirate travel.

Taycan vs Segment Rivals

The Taycan 4S competes directly with the Tesla Model S and Audi e-tron GT, leading the segment with its unique 800-volt architecture that allows for 270 kW rapid charging. While rivals may offer slightly more cargo space, the Porsche provides a vastly superior driving position and cockpit build quality designed for high-speed stability. Its thermal management system is widely regarded as the benchmark for maintaining consistent performance during the intense heat of a GCC summer.

Running Costs & Resale

Ownership costs for this electric sedan are significantly lower than petrol-powered luxury rivals, as it eliminates complex oil-change schedules and traditional transmission maintenance. The authorized service network for Porsche is extensive across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring specialized EV technicians are always accessible. In the GCC, GCC-spec Taycans retain value better than non-regional imports, typically depreciating at a rate comparable to high-end European sports sedans rather than the steeper drops seen in the broader EV market.

Performance & Capability

This Taycan 4S delivers a blistering 0-100 km/h time of just 4.0 seconds, making it one of the fastest four-door vehicles on the road. The dual-motor powertrain ensures relentless traction, while the two-speed transmission on the rear axle provides effortless high-speed cruising at 140 km/h and beyond. Its 93.4 kWh battery is designed for longevity, supporting ultra-fast DC charging that can replenish the battery from 5% to 80% in approximately 22 minutes at compatible stations.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is a focused 4-seat configuration featuring the iconic 16.8-inch curved digital instrument cluster and a secondary touchscreen for climate controls. Dual-zone automatic climate control is standard and exceptionally powerful, designed to cool the cabin rapidly even after being parked in the sun. The insulation from both road noise and external heat is class-leading, making it a serene environment for long highway commutes between cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Safety

Safety is paramount with a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems, including lane-keeping assist and forward collision mitigation. The 360-degree camera system and front/rear parking sensors make navigating tight city spaces effortless, while the adaptive LED headlights provide exceptional visibility on unlit desert roads. Multiple airbags and a high-strength chassis designed specifically for battery protection ensure it remains one of the safest vehicles in its class.

The bottom line

This is the ideal purchase for a tech-forward executive seeking a low-mileage, GCC-spec Porsche that bypasses the steepest part of the depreciation curve while still offering peak performance.
