• Multi-Terrain Select with Crawl Control standard
• 14-speaker JBL audio system standard

Summary

This Land Cruiser VXR is a standout opportunity, combining flagship luxury with exceptionally low mileage for a 4-year-old vehicle in the GCC. The black exterior is a high-demand color in the regional market, ensuring strong resale value and a commanding road presence. As the premium VXR trim, it offers significantly more cabin technology and refined suspension than the standard GXR models. This generation's twin-turbo V6 provides more power and better fuel composure than the outgoing V8, making it a more sophisticated daily driver for both city commutes and desert weekends. For a GCC buyer, the balance of Toyota's legendary reliability and this car's high-specification features makes it one of the safest long-term investments in the SUV segment.

This Car vs Other 2022 Land Cruisers

With only 23,703 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven significantly less than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average for SUVs in the GCC. At 4 years old, it presents as a low-usage example that has spent more time in climate-controlled environments than on the highway. The black exterior remains one of the top three colors for resale strength in the UAE and wider Gulf markets.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR trim is the luxury flagship, adding critical features that GCC buyers value, including the 14-speaker JBL premium audio system and four-zone climate control. Unlike the GXR, the VXR is equipped with Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) for superior ride comfort and second-row ventilated seats, which are essential for passenger comfort during peak Gulf summers. It also gains a larger 12.3-inch digital cockpit and the full 3D Multi-Terrain Monitor system.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Nissan Patrol and Lexus LX, the Land Cruiser leads in terms of pure regional authorized service availability and parts accessibility across all GCC borders. Its 110-litre fuel tank provides a massive cruising range for long-distance desert trips between cities like Dubai and Riyadh. The VXR's refined GA-F platform offers a lighter, more rigid chassis that provides better body control than its predecessors or the body-on-frame competitors from North America.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.5L twin-turbo engine is more efficient than the previous V8, averaging approximately 12–15 L/100km in mixed GCC driving. Maintenance follows a reliable 10,000 km or 6-month interval, with an extensive network of authorized service centers like Al-Futtaim in the UAE and Abdul Latif Jameel in Saudi Arabia. The Land Cruiser historically retains value better than almost any other vehicle in the region, typically seeing only 8–10% annual depreciation compared to the 15% seen in European luxury rivals.

Performance & Capability

The twin-turbo V6 delivers 409 hp and 650 Nm of torque, enabling a verified 0–100 km/h time of approximately 6.7 seconds. For off-road enthusiasts, it features 235 mm of ground clearance and a 700 mm wading depth, making it perfectly suited for deep sand dunes and seasonal wadi crossings. The Multi-Terrain Select system automatically adjusts the 10-speed transmission and braking for specific surfaces like 'Deep Snow/Mud' or 'Rock,' ensuring confidence in all GCC terrains.

Comfort & Cabin

This 7-seater features a premium leather interior with both front and rear ventilated seats, a critical comfort factor in temperatures exceeding 45°C. The cabin is exceptionally quiet thanks to improved acoustic glass and insulation from the new chassis design. Families will appreciate the powered third-row seating and the four-zone climate control that ensures every passenger stays cool during long cross-country drives.

Safety

The VXR comes standard with the full Toyota Safety Sense suite, featuring Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane-Keep Assist, which are highly effective for long highway drives across the Emirates. It also includes a 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor and blind-spot monitoring to assist with lane changes on fast-moving multi-lane roads. Multiple airbags and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) provide class-leading protection for all seven occupants.

The bottom line

This is a rare, low-mileage VXR flagship for the buyer who wants the most capable luxury 4x4 in the GCC without the new-car depreciation. Its combination of the most desirable trim, color, and engine makes it an elite choice for both family comfort and desert reliability.
