Summary

This Land Cruiser 300 series represents the modern evolution of the Gulf’s most trusted SUV, offering a massive leap in performance with its 409 hp twin-turbo engine. With just 35,000 km, this vehicle is well below the typical GCC annual average, presenting a mechanical advantage for its next owner. The black exterior is a high-demand choice in the UAE, ensuring it holds its value exceptionally well when you eventually decide to upgrade. As a GXR trim, it balances off-road hardware with essential cabin comforts, making it the practical choice for both family school runs and desert weekend trips. Owning a Land Cruiser in this region means total peace of mind, backed by a service network that spans every corner of the GCC.

This Car vs Other 2022 Land Cruisers

With 35,000 km on the odometer, this example has been driven significantly less than the 20,000–25,000 km annual average typical for large SUVs in the GCC. The black paintwork is one of the three 'pillar' colors for resale in the local market, alongside white and silver. This combination of low mileage and a strong resale color makes it a high-tier prospect for buyers focused on long-term value retention.

GXR vs Lower Trims

The GXR trim serves as the mid-range sweet spot, adding essential comfort features over the base GX such as a larger 9-inch touchscreen and dual-zone climate control. Unlike entry-level versions, the GXR typically includes a cooled center console—a vital feature for the GCC summer—and front and rear parking sensors with a back-view monitor. It provides the full 300-series mechanical experience without the high premium of the VXR's air suspension and wood-grain interior.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Nissan Patrol, the Land Cruiser leads in total fuel capacity with a 110-liter tank, offering superior range for long-distance cross-border drives between UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia. Its 3.5L twin-turbo V6 delivers 650 Nm of torque, providing more low-end pull for sand driving than naturally aspirated rivals in the segment. The 10-speed automatic transmission also offers smoother highway cruising at high speeds compared to the older 7-speed units found in some competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this twin-turbo V6 averages around 12.1 L/100km, though stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh can push this to 15 L/100km. Service intervals are strictly every 10,000 km at authorized centers, which are the most accessible across the entire GCC region. The Land Cruiser maintains legendary value retention, typically depreciating only 8–10% annually, which is significantly lower than its European luxury SUV counterparts.

Performance & Capability

The 409 hp output allows for effortless highway overtaking and a 0–100 km/h time of just 6.7 seconds, a notable improvement over the previous generation. Off-road, the 230 mm ground clearance and standard low-range transfer case ensure it handles the deepest dunes with ease. Selectable drive modes adjust the 10-speed transmission and throttle response to suit different terrains, from loose sand to heavy gravel.

Comfort & Cabin

This 7-seater layout features a genuinely usable third row, making it ideal for larger GCC families. The air conditioning system is specifically engineered for 45°C+ temperatures, featuring dedicated rear cooling vents to keep all passengers comfortable during the peak of summer. High-quality fabric or synthetic leather seating and a factory refrigerator in the center console ensure long road trips between emirates are a premium experience.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes a comprehensive suite of airbags covering all three rows, alongside Stability Control and Active Traction Control for sand and wet road surfaces. Features like Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are particularly beneficial for navigating fast-moving multi-lane GCC highways. The robust body-on-frame construction provides a level of passive safety and durability that monocoque rivals cannot match in harsh environments.

The bottom line

This is a low-mileage, GCC-spec icon in a prime resale color, perfect for a buyer who wants the latest Land Cruiser technology with a proven history of durability.
