Summary

This 2023 Chevrolet Camaro LT offers a balanced blend of muscle car heritage and daily usability, featuring the efficient yet potent 3.6L V6. With mileage that reflects typical GCC highway use, this unit remains a highly relevant choice for those seeking iconic styling without the running costs of a V8. The Red exterior is a high-visibility choice that consistently performs well in the local resale market. It provides a more refined driving experience than its four-cylinder counterparts while remaining significantly more accessible than the SS models. For a buyer in the UAE, this GCC-spec coupe represents a modern, tech-forward entry into the sports car segment with full local service support.

This Car vs Other 2023 Camaros

With approximately 56,000 km, this Camaro has been driven slightly above the GCC annual average, suggesting consistent highway use which is often better for mechanical longevity than short city bursts. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it avoids the insurance and warranty complications often found with American-spec imports common in the UAE. The vibrant Red finish is a sought-after 'hero' color for the Camaro, ensuring it stands out in a market that favors bold sports car aesthetics.

LT vs Lower Trims

The LT trim serves as a significant upgrade over the base LS, offering a power-adjustable front passenger seat and access to a more sophisticated Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system. While the LS is often restricted to the 4-cylinder engine, the LT provides the smoother, more melodic 335 hp V6, which is better suited for the high-speed overtakes required on the E11. It also introduces better interior materials and enhanced wheel options compared to the entry-level workhorse trims.

Camaro vs Segment Rivals

The Camaro leads the Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger in terms of chassis agility and driver feedback, offering a more 'sports car' feel than its bulkier American rivals. Its 72-litre fuel tank provides a generous cruising range, making it a superior companion for long cross-emirate drives between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. While the Challenger offers more raw cabin space, the Camaro’s cockpit is more driver-centric and modern, featuring better integration for wireless smartphone connectivity.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the V6 stays around 10.4 L/100km on the highway, making it one of the more economical ways to enjoy a rear-wheel-drive coupe in GCC conditions. Chevrolet maintains an extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts are affordable and readily available. The 2023 model retains high value as one of the final production years for this generation, with GCC-spec V6 models typically depreciating at a slower rate than imported V8 variants.

Performance & Capability

The 3.6L V6 delivers a verified 335 hp, allowing for a 0–60 mph sprint in just 5.1 seconds when paired with the automatic transmission. This powertrain is perfectly tuned for the heat of the Middle East, offering consistent performance without the heat-soak issues sometimes associated with smaller turbocharged engines. The Rear Wheel Drive setup and 10-speed automatic transmission provide a seamless power delivery that is both exciting at the Autodrome and comfortable in Dubai Marina traffic.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, you'll find a four-seat configuration with a focus on front-row ergonomics and a powerful AC system designed to handle 45°C+ summer peaks. The cabin is well-insulated from road noise, a critical factor for comfort during long highway stretches. The infotainment system includes standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ensuring modern navigation is always available during city commutes.

Safety

Safety is managed by a suite of seven airbags and a high-strength steel safety cage. Standard features include the Teen Driver system and a Rear Vision Camera, which are essential for navigating tight mall parking spaces. The StabiliTrak electronic stability control system and traction control are standard, providing vital assistance on sandy or rain-slicked road surfaces often encountered in the region.

The bottom line

For the GCC driver who wants the look and feel of a legendary muscle car with the reliability of a naturally aspirated V6, this modern GCC-spec Camaro is the ideal middle ground.
