Summary

This 2023 Chevrolet Captiva Premier is a highly practical family crossover that delivers exceptional value in the GCC's mid-size SUV segment. Finished in black, a strong choice for local resale, it features the range-topping Premier trim which elevates the cabin experience with leatherette upholstery and a panoramic sunroof. With seven seats and a fuel-efficient turbo engine, it strikes a balance between interior room and low running costs for city commuting. Its GCC specification ensures the air conditioning and cooling systems are optimized for the region's intense summer heat. For a family seeking a modern, low-maintenance daily driver with three-row versatility, this listing represents a sensible, high-spec opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2023 Captivas

At 89,429 km, this vehicle’s mileage is average for a 2023 model in the GCC, where annual highway-heavy use typically reaches 25,000 km. The black exterior is a high-demand resale color across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, often fetching a premium over louder colors. Choosing the Premier trim at this mileage ensures you benefit from a significantly higher level of technology and safety than the entry-level LS units commonly found in the market.

PREMIER vs Lower Trims

The Premier trim provides a substantial upgrade over the LS and LT, most notably with the addition of a 360-degree camera system for easier parking in tight city spots. It also adds a panoramic sunroof, a 7-inch digital driver information display, and 6-way power adjustment for the driver's seat. Safety is further enhanced in the Premier with four airbags standard, whereas lower trims often carry only two.

Captiva vs Segment Rivals

The Captiva leads rivals like the Mitsubishi ASX and Toyota Rush by offering a more modern turbocharged powertrain that delivers higher torque for highway overtaking. Its 10.4-inch vertical touchscreen is one of the largest in the segment, providing a superior interface for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, the flat-folding seat mechanism offers a more versatile cargo floor compared to several competitors that use tumble-only folding systems.

Running Costs & Resale

With a manufacturer-official fuel economy of 6.0 L/100km, the Captiva is exceptionally efficient for a seven-seater in GCC stop-start traffic. It uses standard 91-octane petrol, keeping fuel bills low even with daily use. Chevrolet’s extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia ensures parts are readily available and maintenance costs remain predictable. The model follows a standard 10,000 km service interval, and as a GCC-spec Premier trim, it retains its value better than import-spec variants.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 1.5L turbocharged engine producing 149 hp and 255 Nm of torque, the Captiva is tuned for smooth, linear power delivery via a CVT transmission. This setup is ideal for long-distance highway drives between emirates, offering a relaxed cruising experience at 120 km/h. While configured as a front-wheel-drive crossover, its generous ground clearance is well-suited for navigating gravel access roads and urban speed bumps common in the region.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat cabin is designed with the GCC climate in mind, featuring dedicated air conditioning vents for the second row to ensure all passengers stay cool during the summer. The Premier trim features grey leatherette seating that is durable and easy to clean, paired with a panoramic sunroof that opens up the cabin feel. Third-row passengers benefit from their own USB charging ports, a thoughtful touch for family road trips.

Safety

This Premier trim is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including electronic stability control, traction control, and hill-start assist, which is particularly useful on inclined parking ramps. The standard 360-degree camera and front and rear parking sensors provide excellent spatial awareness. It also includes ISOFIX child seat anchors and a tire pressure monitoring system to ensure highway safety during high-temperature drives.

The bottom line

Perfect for families who need seven-seat flexibility and low running costs, this high-trim Captiva offers the best technology in its class with the peace of mind of a full GCC specification.
