Summary

This 2023 Chevrolet Captiva Premier is a highly practical 7-seater SUV that balances modern tech with impressive fuel efficiency. Having covered just 27,000 km, it sits well below the typical GCC annual mileage of 20,000–25,000 km, making it an exceptionally fresh option for its age. The Premier trim ensures you have the best features available for this model, including a surround-view camera and upgraded driver displays which are essential for navigating busy city traffic. Finished in Grey—a versatile and high-resale color in the local market—it offers a spacious cabin perfect for families who need flexibility. For those looking for a reliable, modern crossover that manages the commute and school runs with low running costs, this GCC-spec Captiva is a standout choice.

This Car vs Other 2023 Captivas

With only 27,000 km on the odometer, this Captiva has been driven significantly less than the average 2023 model in the GCC, which typically sees upwards of 40,000 km by this stage. The Grey exterior is a strategic choice for the region, offering better heat management than darker tones and maintaining stronger resale value than niche colors. Being a GCC-spec vehicle, it comes with the peace of mind of a cooling system and warranty support designed for the local climate.

PREMIER vs Lower Trims

The Premier trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the LS and LT variants by adding a 360-degree surround-view camera, which is a major advantage for parking in tight spaces. Inside, you get a larger 7-inch digital driver information cluster and a 6-way power-adjustable driver's seat, features that are often missing on lower trims. It also includes 18-inch polished alloy wheels and power-folding mirrors, giving it a more sophisticated road presence.

Captiva vs Segment Rivals

The Captiva leads rivals like the Toyota Rush and Mitsubishi ASX by offering a more modern turbocharged engine and a significantly larger maximum cargo volume of 1,051 litres. While competitors often rely on older naturally aspirated engines, the Captiva's 1.5L Turbo provides better torque for highway overtaking. Its three-row configuration is more genuinely usable for families than many other compact crossovers in this price bracket.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel efficiency is a core strength, with an official combined rating of 6.0 L/100km, making it one of the most economical 7-seaters for daily GCC commuting. Service intervals are set at 10,000 km, supported by an extensive network of authorized Chevrolet centers across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring low maintenance hassle. The Captiva has shown steady value retention in the used market, typically depreciating at a lower rate than luxury European alternatives in the same size category.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5L turbocharged engine produces 149 hp and 255 Nm of torque, providing smooth acceleration for city driving and stable performance on long inter-emirate highway stretches. It achieves a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 9.5 seconds, which is competitive for its class and more than adequate for daily school runs or weekend trips. The front-wheel-drive setup is optimized for road comfort and fuel savings, while the ground clearance allows for confident handling of speed bumps and gravel tracks.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is designed for family logistics, featuring seven seats with a flexible layout that can be folded flat to accommodate large items. The Premier trim features electric air conditioning controls and rear cooling vents, which are vital for maintaining passenger comfort during the peak GCC summer. Tech-wise, the 8-inch touchscreen comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ensuring seamless connectivity for long family road trips.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive on this top-tier trim, headlined by a 360-degree camera and front and rear parking sensors to prevent low-speed collisions. The vehicle is equipped with a suite of active systems including Stability Control, Traction Control, and Hill Start Assist, which provide essential stability on varied road surfaces. Standard ISOFIX points in the rear seats and multiple airbags ensure that this is a safe environment for younger family members.

The bottom line

This low-mileage 2023 Captiva Premier is the ideal solution for a GCC family seeking a tech-loaded 7-seater with the fuel economy of a much smaller car.
