Summary

This 2023 Chevrolet Groove LT is a standout choice for urban commuters looking for modern tech and high efficiency in a compact SUV. With roughly 60,000 km, its mileage is exactly on par for a two-year-old vehicle in the GCC, where highway-heavy driving is the norm. The LT trim offers a great balance of essential features like cruise control and a rearview camera without the higher price tag of the Premier. Its Polar White exterior is a top-tier resale color in the UAE and Saudi markets, ensuring better value retention. For a GCC buyer, this model represents one of the most cost-effective entries into the crossover segment with Chevrolet's reliable local support.

This Car vs Other 2023 Grooves

With 60,204 km on the odometer, this Groove falls squarely within the average annual usage of 30,000 km typical for the GCC region. Unlike high-mileage examples often found in the secondary market, this car has been used moderately, preserving its mechanical longevity. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the local market due to its heat-reflective properties and superior resale demand.

LT vs Lower Trims

The LT serves as a well-equipped entry point, featuring 16-inch alloy wheels and a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel that are often absent on base models. It includes the essential 8-inch infotainment system with full smartphone projection and a rearview camera as standard. These features are critical for the GCC's fast-paced city driving and tight parking environments.

Groove vs Segment Rivals

The Groove leads many rivals like the MG ZS and Nissan Kicks in overall fuel efficiency, achieving a verified 15.2 km/L. While competitors may offer slightly more power, the Groove is optimized for low running costs in stop-start traffic in cities like Dubai and Riyadh. Its compact turning circle makes it significantly easier to maneuver in urban centers compared to larger crossovers.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 6.6 L/100km, making it one of the most economical petrol SUVs in the region. Chevrolet's authorized service network is extensive across the UAE, KSA, and Kuwait, ensuring parts are always available and affordable. The Groove typically experiences a 12-15% annual depreciation, which is standard for American-branded compact crossovers in the GCC market.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5L engine produces 110 hp and 147 Nm of torque, specifically tuned for smooth acceleration through a CVT transmission. It reaches a top speed of 170 km/h, providing comfortable cruising on long inter-emirate highways. While front-wheel drive limits it to tarmac and light gravel, its ground clearance is ample for handling speed bumps and city road imperfections typical in the region.

Comfort & Cabin

The 5-seat cabin is designed for efficiency, featuring a 320-litre boot that expands to 1,194 litres for weekend trips. The air conditioning system is built to handle extreme GCC summer heat, complemented by dedicated vents and a user-friendly digital interface. The interior utilizes durable materials designed to withstand high-temperature environments without fading or cracking.

Safety

Standard safety on the LT trim includes dual front airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Traction Control for stable handling on sandy or wet surfaces. It also features a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), which is vital for safe highway driving in high-heat conditions. Rear parking sensors and a high-definition camera come standard to assist in visibility.

The bottom line

Perfect for a young professional or a small family, this GCC-spec Groove offers modern connectivity and class-leading fuel economy in a highly resale-friendly color.
