Summary

This 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe LS offers a compelling opportunity in the GCC market, combining the classic 5.3L V8 powertrain with a modern 10-speed transmission. At three years old and with 74,463 km, the mileage is well-aligned with the higher annual driving averages typical of the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The black exterior is a high-demand resale color in this region, ensuring stronger value retention when it's time to upgrade. As an LS trim, it balances heavy-duty capability with essential family tech like wireless smartphone integration, making it a more practical buy than luxury-oriented trims for those focused on utility. The Tahoe remains a segment standout for its massive interior volume and legendary reliability across long desert highway stretches.

This Car vs Other 2023 Tahoes

With 74,463 km on the odometer, this Tahoe has averaged approximately 24,800 km per year, which is perfectly typical for a full-size SUV in the GCC where highway commuting is frequent. It sits comfortably in the middle of the used market for its age, avoiding the excessive wear of high-mileage fleet vehicles while being more accessible than low-km collectors. The black paint is a major asset in the local market, as neutral tones traditionally command faster sales and better prices at resale in the Emirates.

LS vs Lower Trims

The LS serves as the entry point into the Tahoe lineup, yet it is significantly better equipped than basic fleet models. It provides a standard 8-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a proximity key and push-button start—features that are often optional on base-tier rivals. Crucially for the GCC, the LS includes the heavy-duty cooling system as standard, ensuring the V8 and transmission remain protected during extreme summer heat.

Tahoe vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Ford Expedition, the Tahoe LS offers a more traditional V8 engine experience that many GCC buyers prefer for long-term durability over smaller turbocharged units. While the Nissan Armada offers a larger standard engine, the Tahoe leads in maximum cargo volume, offering significantly more space behind the third row for family road trips. Its 10-speed automatic transmission also provides a smoother highway cruising experience than the older gearboxes found in some competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 5.3L V8 is a staple of the region, meaning parts are readily available at every major service center across the UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia. Real-world fuel consumption averages around 13 L/100km, which is efficient for this segment thanks to cylinder deactivation technology during highway cruising. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and as a GCC-spec vehicle, it maintains its value significantly better than imported North American models, which often face warranty and parts compatibility issues.

Performance & Capability

The 355 hp V8 provides effortless overtaking power on the E11 and E311 highways, even when fully loaded with eight passengers. When properly equipped, this Tahoe can tow up to 3,810 kg, making it ideal for hauling boats to the coast or trailers for desert camping weekends. The independent rear suspension, introduced in this generation, has transformed the handling, providing a planted and comfortable ride that masks the vehicle's large footprint during cross-country drives.

Comfort & Cabin

The 8-seater layout is designed for maximum family utility, featuring a tri-zone automatic climate control system that is specifically tuned to handle 45°C+ temperatures. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated ceiling-mounted vents and separate controls, ensuring the cabin cools down rapidly after being parked in the sun. The cabin also features acoustic laminated glass, which significantly reduces wind noise during high-speed highway travel between emirates.

Safety

This Tahoe LS comes standard with Chevrolet Safety Assist, an advanced suite including Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Front Pedestrian Braking. For the fast-paced driving conditions of the GCC, the Lane Keep Assist and Following Distance Indicator provide an extra layer of security on multi-lane roads. Additionally, seven airbags and a high-definition rear vision camera are standard, providing excellent visibility and protection for all eight occupants.

The bottom line

This Tahoe is the ideal choice for a GCC family looking for a reliable, V8-powered workhorse that has been driven the appropriate amount for its age. It offers the perfect balance of modern tech and traditional durability in a high-resale color.
