Summary

This Dodge Durango GT is a standout in the GCC market, offering a perfect balance of American muscle styling and seven-seat practicality. With just over 31,500 km on the clock, this three-year-old SUV has been driven significantly less than the regional average, making it a mechanically fresh choice for its next owner. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the Emirates, ensuring excellent heat reflection and the strongest possible resale value. For those cross-shopping between family crossovers and dedicated haulers, the GT trim provides a more aggressive road presence without the fuel overhead of the V8 engines. It represents a highly rational buy for families who need row-three accessibility and long-distance comfort across the GCC's highway network.

This Car vs Other 2023 Durangos

At 31,506 km, this Durango is in exceptional standing compared to typical three-year-old examples in the UAE, which often exceed 60,000 km due to inter-emirate commuting. The white paintwork is a strategic advantage for GCC ownership, as it maintains a cooler cabin temperature during summer months and consistently commands a premium in the used market. This specific listing offers a lower-wear alternative to the higher-mileage units commonly found in this price bracket.

GT vs Lower Trims

The GT trim is a significant step up from the base SXT, most notably replacing the 18-inch wheels with aggressive 20-inch alloys and adding the signature blacked-out sport grille. Inside, the GT standardizes the third-row seating for seven passengers, which is often an optional extra on lower trims. You also gain a power liftgate and remote engine start, a critical feature for pre-cooling the cabin in the intense Gulf heat before you even step inside.

Durango vs Segment Rivals

The Durango leads rivals like the Ford Explorer and Toyota Highlander in pure towing capability, making it the preferred choice for those hauling boats or trailers to the coast. Its massive 93-1-litre fuel tank provides a superior cruising range for long desert highway drives between Dubai and Riyadh. While rivals lean toward a softer crossover feel, the Durango retains a rugged, rear-wheel-drive biased platform that offers a more planted and stable feel at highway speeds.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.6L Pentastar V6 is one of the most reliable engines in the region, typically requiring service every 10,000 km at authorized Mopar centers found extensively across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. Real-world fuel consumption averages around 11.9 L/100km, which is competitive for a vehicle of this size in GCC stop-start traffic. As a GCC-spec model, it retains a significantly higher percentage of its value compared to North American imports, which often face insurance and warranty hurdles locally.

Performance & Capability

The Durango GT offers a 2,812 kg braked towing capacity, easily handling most recreational towing needs in the Emirates. The 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smooth highway cruising, allowing the V6 to deliver power efficiently during overtaking maneuvers. While it is road-biased, the rear-wheel-drive configuration and generous ground clearance make it capable of handling graded gravel tracks and sandy paths for weekend escapes to the wadis.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for large families, featuring tri-zone automatic climate control with dedicated vents for all three rows to ensure rapid cooling during peak summer. The interior offers over 50 seating configurations, including a fold-and-tumble second row that allows easy access to the back for adults and children alike. Acoustic glass and thick insulation help keep the interior quiet, effectively filtering out road noise during long-distance highway travel.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive on the GT trim, featuring a suite of seven airbags including a driver’s knee airbag. Standard active systems include Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection, which are essential for navigating the multi-lane highways of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The vehicle also comes equipped with Electronic Stability Control and Ready Alert Braking, ensuring the heavy SUV remains composed during sudden maneuvers or emergency stops.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Durango GT is the ideal choice for a buyer who wants the aggressive styling of a muscle car with the low-mileage reliability of a well-maintained family SUV.
