Summary

This 3-year-old GMC Acadia AT4 represents a smart acquisition in the GCC market, combining rugged styling with a proven V6 powertrain that avoids the complexities of smaller turbo engines. As the off-road-focused trim, the AT4 offers a distinct visual presence with its blacked-out chrome and unique wheels, which helps it maintain stronger resale demand than entry-level trims. The 7-seat configuration makes it a versatile family hauler, while the all-terrain capability provides confidence for weekend desert excursions. In the local market, the white exterior is the most preferred color for heat reflection and high resale liquidity. For a GCC buyer, the standard GCC specification ensures the cooling system and air conditioning are fully optimized for extreme summer temperatures.

This Car vs Other 2023 Acadias

At 103,057 km, this vehicle has been utilized as a frequent regional traveler, averaging roughly 34,000 km per year. While this is above the typical GCC average of 25,000 km, it indicates a car that has spent the majority of its life on stable highway stretches between Emirates rather than in abrasive stop-start city traffic. The AT4 trim's specialized suspension and higher equipment level make it a more desirable long-term prospect than the base SLE models often found at this mileage.

AT4 vs Lower Trims

The AT4 is a significant upgrade over the SLE and SLT trims, most notably replacing the 2.0L 4-cylinder with a robust 310 hp V6 engine. It introduces the Active Torque Control AWD system with a twin-clutch rear differential, providing far superior traction on loose sand and gravel. Inside, you gain AT4-exclusive Kalahari accents and a standard 8-inch infotainment system with navigation and Bose premium audio that are often optional on lower configurations.

Acadia vs Segment Rivals

The Acadia leads rivals like the Ford Explorer and Honda Pilot by offering a more truck-inspired, rugged aesthetic and superior front-row legroom. Its 3.6L V6 engine is highly regarded in the GCC for its straightforward maintenance compared to the turbocharged units found in many competitors. Furthermore, the AT4's specific off-road hardware gives it a capability edge over road-biased family crossovers in the same price bracket.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.6L V6 is designed for longevity in high-heat environments and runs efficiently on 95-octane fuel. GMC maintains an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts availability is never a concern. Resale value for the Acadia in the GCC remains stable, typically depreciating by 12-15% annually, with the AT4 and Denali trims holding a premium due to their higher demand in the pre-owned market. Standard service intervals are every 10,000 km or 12 months as per regional requirements.

Performance & Capability

The 3.6L V6 delivers 310 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque, providing effortless overtaking power on high-speed highways like the E11. The AT4-exclusive Traction Select system allows you to switch between FWD, AWD, and a dedicated Off-Road mode that recalibrates the twin-clutch system for maximum grip. With a braked towing capacity of approximately 1,814 kg, it is well-suited for hauling jet skis or light trailers for weekend adventures.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features a flexible 7-seat layout with flat-folding second and third rows, offering up to 2,237 liters of total cargo volume. GMC’s tri-zone automatic climate control is specifically engineered to handle 45°C+ temperatures, ensuring rapid cooling for all three rows of passengers. The interior is finished with premium AT4-exclusive materials, designed to be durable enough for family use while maintaining a sophisticated, upscale feel.

Safety

Safety is managed by the GMC Pro Safety Plus suite, which includes Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Lane Keep Assist as standard. The AT4 also features Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, which are essential for navigating busy multi-lane highway traffic in major GCC cities. Parking is simplified via standard front and rear sensors and a high-definition rearview camera.

The bottom line

For a buyer seeking a family SUV that stands out from the crowd with genuine off-road character and a reliable V6, this AT4 is a compelling and practical choice. It offers the perfect balance of premium features and rugged durability for the local lifestyle.
