Summary

This 2023 Haval H6 in the top-tier SUPREME trim represents one of the most compelling value propositions in the current GCC used car market, offering a level of luxury and technology that traditionally costs twice as much in European rivals. As a 2023 model, it benefits from the latest generation of design and engineering, featuring a sophisticated Four Wheel Drive system that provides excellent stability on both rain-slicked city roads and gravel tracks. The black exterior is a high-demand choice in the UAE and wider GCC, ensuring strong resale liquidity and a professional, premium aesthetic that masks the car's utilitarian roots. For the regional buyer, this SUV stands out by including a full suite of ventilated seating and advanced cooling systems as standard, addressing the primary concern of high-temperature driving. Choosing the SUPREME trim ensures you are getting the absolute maximum feature set available from the manufacturer, including an array of cameras and sensors that make navigating tight urban parking in Dubai or Riyadh effortless. This specific vehicle is an ideal match for a professional or a small family looking for a modern, tech-heavy SUV that remains under manufacturer-supported parameters and offers a lower total cost of ownership than legacy luxury brands.

This Car vs Other 2023 Haval H6s

When comparing this specific 2023 Haval H6 to others on the market, the primary differentiator is its mechanical configuration and regional suitability. While many listings may feature the base front-wheel-drive versions, this vehicle is equipped with the superior Four Wheel Drive system, providing better traction and safety across diverse GCC terrains. The mileage on this unit is reflective of a vehicle that has been used primarily for long-distance commuting, which is common in the region given the highway-heavy infrastructure between major cities. These highway kilometers are often easier on the engine and transmission than stop-start city driving in heavy traffic, as the components operate at stable temperatures. The black-on-black color scheme is a major advantage for resale in the local market, as it remains one of the three most searched colors in the UAE. This car has been maintained to GCC standards, ensuring that all cooling systems and filters are optimized for the local environment, unlike grey-market imports that often struggle with the intense summer heat.

SUPREME vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the SUPREME trim transforms the Haval H6 from a capable SUV into a genuine luxury contender, adding features that GCC buyers consider essential for comfort and status. Unlike the basic and mid-range trims, the SUPREME adds a panoramic sunroof that spans the cabin, providing an airy feel while utilizing high-grade heat-reflective glass to protect occupants from the sun. The interior is upgraded with premium leather upholstery and, most importantly, ventilated front seats which are a necessity during the long summer months in the Middle East. You also benefit from a larger high-definition infotainment screen and a fully digital instrument cluster that provides more customization than the analog-heavy lower trims. From a safety perspective, the SUPREME is the only trim to offer the complete Level 2 autonomous driving suite, including traffic sign recognition and a 360-degree high-definition camera system that makes parking in narrow mall spaces significantly safer. This trim also includes the premium sound system upgrade, offering superior acoustics for long drives across the Emirates.

Haval H6 vs Segment Rivals

In the highly competitive compact SUV segment, the Haval H6 goes head-to-head with established names like the Toyota RAV4, Hyundai Tucson, and Kia Sportage. Where the Haval leads is in its 'luxury-per-dirham' ratio, providing standard features in the SUPREME trim that rivals often lock behind expensive optional packages or higher price brackets. The 2.0L turbocharged engine offers a punchier mid-range torque curve than many naturally aspirated competitors, making highway overtaking at speed much more confident. Cabin space is another area where the Haval H6 shines, offering a wider interior footprint and more rear legroom than the Tucson, making it a better fit for families with older children or those who frequently carry adult passengers. The build quality and material selection in the SUPREME trim are specifically designed to mimic European luxury standards, using soft-touch plastics and brushed metal finishes that feel more premium than the hard plastics often found in base-model Japanese rivals. Furthermore, the Haval H6’s cooling system is specifically tuned for the 50°C temperatures of the GCC, a focus that has allowed it to quickly gain market share from brands with global, one-size-fits-all specifications.

Running Costs & Resale

Owning a Haval H6 in the GCC is surprisingly affordable, particularly when compared to the maintenance costs of European crossovers. The 2.0L engine is designed for efficiency on 95-octane petrol, which is standard at all regional stations, and it delivers a balanced fuel consumption profile that benefits from the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission's tall highway gears. Service intervals are typically set at 10,000 km, and the authorized service network for Haval has expanded rapidly across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts are readily available and affordable. While Japanese brands historically hold the highest resale value, Haval has established itself as the leader among newer manufacturers, with the H6 retaining approximately 75-80% of its value after the first three years in the local market. The black exterior of this specific car helps protect that value, as it is a neutral and popular choice for the second-hand market. Additionally, as a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains its full eligibility for local service contracts and insurance packages, which is a major trust factor for future buyers.

Performance & Capability

The performance of the 2023 Haval H6 is centered around its robust 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, which provides ample power for both urban sprints and high-speed highway cruising. The Four Wheel Drive system is an intelligent setup that automatically shifts power to the wheels with the most grip, providing stability during sudden rainstorms or when traversing sandy patches on the way to a weekend desert campsite. With a 0-100 km/h time that feels competitive for its class, it never feels sluggish even when fully loaded with passengers and luggage. The suspension is tuned for comfort, soaking up road imperfections and speed bumps with ease, which is a significant advantage for daily commuting in cities like Dubai or Doha. It offers a generous ground clearance that allows for light off-road exploration and ensures the underside is protected from high curbs. Multiple drive modes, including Sport and Eco, allow the driver to customize the transmission response to suit the current driving conditions, whether looking for maximum fuel savings or extra power for overtaking.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior of the SUPREME trim is a sanctuary designed to combat the harsh GCC climate, featuring a dual-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents that ensure all five passengers stay cool. The seating layout is spacious, providing class-leading shoulder room and a flat rear floor that makes the middle seat genuinely usable for adults. Acoustic glass and extensive sound dampening materials have been used to keep the cabin quiet, isolating passengers from road noise and the roar of fast-moving highway traffic. The technology stack is centered around a massive touchscreen that supports smartphone integration, allowing for seamless navigation via Google Maps or Waze during cross-country drives. The boot space is among the most versatile in its class, with a low load lip and a wide opening that easily accommodates large grocery hauls or camping gear for a trip to Jebel Jais. Every touchpoint, from the leather-wrapped steering wheel to the padded door armrests, has been crafted to provide a sense of luxury that belies the car's price point.

Safety

Safety is a hallmark of the 2023 Haval H6, which has earned a 5-Star NCAP rating thanks to its high-strength steel chassis and comprehensive airbag system. The SUPREME trim is equipped with a sophisticated suite of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) that are particularly valuable in the fast-paced driving environment of the GCC. This includes Blind Spot Detection, which is essential for safely changing lanes on multi-lane highways like Sheikh Zayed Road, and Lane Keep Assist to prevent drifting during long drives. The Adaptive Cruise Control system with stop-and-go functionality makes heavy traffic far less stressful by automatically maintaining a safe distance from the car ahead. Additionally, the Autonomous Emergency Braking system provides an extra layer of protection against sudden stops in urban traffic. These systems are standard on this trim, whereas many competitors only offer them as part of expensive optional extras, making this H6 one of the safest vehicles in its category.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants 2024 technology and luxury features at a used-market price, this Haval H6 SUPREME is a standout choice that perfectly balances regional durability with modern sophistication. It is a smart, high-value alternative to more expensive Japanese or European SUVs, offering a premium ownership experience without the premium price tag.
