Summary

This 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander GLX is a compelling choice for GCC buyers seeking a modern, low-mileage SUV that balances efficiency with all-terrain capability. With only 34,700 km on the odometer, it has been driven significantly less than the regional average, preserving its mechanical longevity. The crisp white exterior is the most sought-after color in the Middle East, ensuring excellent heat reflection and strong resale value. As a new-generation model, it offers a refined cabin and sharper styling that stands out against older segment rivals. This specific Chinese-spec trim provides a unique 1.6-litre powertrain that prioritizes urban fuel economy without sacrificing the security of All Wheel Drive.

This Car vs Other 2022 Outlanders

With just 34,700 km, this Outlander is in the bottom tier of mileage for its year in the GCC, where 20,000 km per year is the standard benchmark. The white exterior is a strategic choice for the local market, as it maintains the highest residual value and stays cooler during peak summer months. While most regional units feature the 2.5L engine, this 1.6L variant offers a more specialized efficiency profile for city-based families.

GLX vs Lower Trims

The GLX trim provides the essential S-AWC (Super All-Wheel Control) system, which is a major upgrade over the base front-wheel-drive versions often found in entry-level fleets. It adds critical driver conveniences like a rear camera and parking sensors that are vital for navigating tight GCC mall parking. You also benefit from enhanced cabin materials and a more comprehensive digital interface compared to the stripped-back base trims.

Outlander vs Segment Rivals

The Outlander competes directly with the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, leading the segment with a more rugged, Montero-inspired design language and a sophisticated 4WD system derived from Mitsubishi's rally heritage. Its shared architecture with the Nissan X-Trail ensures a smoother ride and better cabin insulation than many older crossover designs. For those doing long inter-emirate drives, its stable highway manners and generous cargo space offer a clear advantage over smaller compact SUVs.

Running Costs & Resale

Mitsubishi enjoys one of the most extensive authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, making parts and maintenance exceptionally accessible. The 1.6L engine is designed for optimized fuel consumption in stop-start traffic, running efficiently on standard 95-octane petrol. Historically, the Outlander retains roughly 70-75% of its value over three years in the GCC, outperforming many European rivals in the same price bracket.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with 170 hp and an intelligent All Wheel Drive system, this SUV is well-suited for both high-speed highway cruising and weekend excursions to gravel tracks or light sand. The S-AWC system offers selectable drive modes, including Tarmac and Gravel, allowing the driver to adjust the chassis response to local terrain. Its automatic transmission is tuned for smooth power delivery, ensuring comfortable overtaking on fast-moving highways like the E11.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is designed with the GCC climate in mind, featuring a powerful air conditioning system with dedicated vents to ensure rapid cooling during the summer. The interior layout prioritizes legroom in both rows, making it ideal for family road trips between cities. Acoustic glass and improved insulation help keep the cabin quiet, shielding passengers from road noise and high-velocity wind during desert drives.

Safety

Safety is a standout feature for this model, which earned a five-star ANCAP rating under stringent 2022 protocols. Standard equipment includes Active Stability Control (ASC), multiple airbags, and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). These systems provide essential support during sudden maneuvers on sandy or wet road surfaces, while the reinforced RISE body construction offers top-tier occupant protection that is often optional in other regional market trims.

The bottom line

This is a rare opportunity to own a near-new, low-mileage 2022 Outlander that combines modern tech with the region's best resale color, making it a smart, low-depreciation investment for a pragmatic family buyer.
