Summary

This 2023 Honda City SPORT is a standout choice for GCC commuters, offering a blend of aggressive styling and class-leading practicality. Finished in Silver—a top-tier color for heat reflection and resale value in this region—this sedan has covered 85,133 km, which is typical for a two-year-old vehicle driven on UAE's long-distance highways. The SPORT trim elevates the City with distinctive black exterior accents that distinguish it from standard entry-level models, making it far more desirable on the used market. For a buyer in the Gulf, the combination of Honda’s legendary reliability and incredible fuel efficiency makes this an ideal daily driver that handles summer traffic with ease.

This Car vs Other 2023 Honda Citys

At 85,133 km, this vehicle has been utilized as a consistent highway commuter, which is common in the GCC where annual averages reach 25,000 km. While the mileage is slightly higher than the average for its age, the Silver exterior provides a distinct advantage for local resale, as it remains the most popular choice for maintaining a cool cabin temperature during summer months.

SPORT vs Lower Trims

The SPORT trim adds a significant visual upgrade over the DX and LX variants, featuring a Piano Black honeycomb grille, black wing mirrors, and a rear trunk spoiler that gives it a more premium, youthful aesthetic. Inside, you benefit from automatic air conditioning with dedicated rear vents—a critical feature for passenger comfort in the local climate—which is absent in the base trims.

Honda City vs Segment Rivals

The City leads its primary rivals, the Toyota Yaris and Nissan Sunny, with a massive 506-litre boot that comfortably handles airport runs or family road trips. While competitors focus solely on economy, the Honda offers a more refined i-VTEC engine that provides smoother power delivery for merging onto fast-moving UAE highways like the E11.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are exceptionally low, with a manufacturer-rated economy of 5.4 L/100km, though real-world GCC stop-start traffic typically yields around 7.0 L/100km. Service intervals are every 10,000 km, supported by one of the most extensive authorized service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. As a GCC-spec Honda, this model retains its value better than almost any other car in the sub-compact segment, typically depreciating only 8-10% annually.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine produces a verified 119 hp, enough to reach a top speed of 190 km/h. While it is built for efficiency, the CVT includes a 'Sport' mode that sharpens throttle response, making it surprisingly capable for overtaking at highway speeds. The front-wheel-drive setup is perfectly tuned for urban stability and long-distance cruising across the emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed with the 'invigorating cockpit' concept, offering better visibility than many rivals. It features high-quality fabric upholstery that stays cool in the sun and an automatic climate control system that is specifically engineered to handle 45°C+ summer peaks. Rear passengers enjoy segment-leading legroom, making it a viable car for small families or professional transport.

Safety

Safety is a priority with this SPORT trim, which comes standard with 6 airbags, including side and curtain protection. It is built on Honda's ACE body structure to enhance collision protection and features Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) and Hill Start Assist, which are essential for maintaining traction on sandy road shoulders or steep parking ramps.

The bottom line

For the buyer seeking a modern, fuel-efficient sedan with a sporty edge and high resale potential, this GCC-spec City SPORT is the most sensible and stylish choice in the current market.
