Summary

This 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit represents a compelling opportunity in the GCC market, offering the rare and sought-after 5.7L V8 Hemi engine that has since been largely phased out. With 55,637 km on the clock, it has been driven slightly less than the typical GCC average for a three-year-old vehicle, and its black-on-black configuration ensures maximum resale strength in the region. As the Summit trim, it provides a level of interior luxury that genuine cross-shops with German executive SUVs while maintaining authentic American off-road hardware. For a buyer in the UAE or Saudi Arabia, this is the ideal balance of a refined family cruiser that remains capable of handling weekend desert excursions or heavy towing tasks across the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2023 Grand Cherokees

At 55,637 km, this vehicle’s usage is slightly below the 60,000–75,000 km typically expected for a 3-year-old car in the GCC's highway-centric environment. The presence of the 5.7L V8 engine is a significant value driver here, as many 2023 models were equipped with the smaller V6. Its black exterior is a perennial favorite in the secondary market, ensuring it remains a high-demand asset for future resale.

SUMMIT vs Lower Trims

The Summit trim elevates the experience significantly over the Overland, adding 16-way power-adjustable front seats with a massage function that is essential for long drives between cities like Dubai and Muscat. It also standardizes the 360-degree Surround View camera and the Active Driving Assist system, features that GCC buyers prioritize for safety on fast-moving multi-lane highways. Interior materials are upgraded to Nappa leather with Oak wood overlays, providing a noticeably more premium cabin feel.

Grand Cherokee vs Segment Rivals

The Grand Cherokee L stands out against rivals like the Ford Explorer and Toyota Highlander by offering the Quadra-Drive II 4x4 system with a rear electronic limited-slip differential, giving it superior sand-driving capability. Its 87-liter fuel tank is specifically advantageous for long-distance desert crossings, providing a greater range than several European competitors. Furthermore, it offers a more advanced digital cockpit experience than many Japanese alternatives in this price bracket.

Running Costs & Resale

The 5.7L V8 Hemi typically delivers a combined fuel consumption of approximately 13.5 L/100km, though this can rise in stop-start city traffic in Riyadh or Dubai. Jeep has a robust authorized service network across the UAE (Al Futtaim) and Saudi Arabia (Petromin), ensuring that parts and expert technicians are readily available. Historically, the Summit trim holds its value well in the GCC, depreciating at a more stable rate than equivalent European luxury SUVs due to its reputation for mechanical durability.

Performance & Capability

The 357 hp Hemi V8 provides 529 Nm of torque, enabling effortless highway overtaking even when fully loaded with seven passengers. Its Quadra-Lift air suspension allows the vehicle to raise for 276 mm of ground clearance, making it highly capable for moderate off-roading or navigating deep sand. The Selec-Terrain system includes a dedicated Sand/Mud mode specifically tuned for the types of surfaces found across the Arabian Peninsula.

Comfort & Cabin

This seven-seat configuration features a tri-zone climate control system with dedicated vents for all three rows, ensuring rapid cooling during extreme summer temperatures. The cabin is exceptionally quiet thanks to active noise cancellation and acoustic glass, which effectively insulates passengers from wind noise during high-speed highway cruising. The 19-speaker McIntosh audio system is widely regarded as one of the best factory systems in the SUV segment.

Safety

This Summit trim comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including Intersection Collision Assist and Drowsy Driver Detection, which are particularly valuable for long-distance travel. The standard 360-degree camera and Parallel/Perpendicular Park Assist make navigating tight mall parking structures significantly easier. It also features a full array of advanced airbags and electronic stability controls specifically calibrated for heavy SUV dynamics on varied terrain.

The bottom line

This is a prime choice for a family looking for a high-specification, V8-powered SUV that is still under its original service contract and warranty. It offers a luxury experience that rivals the best in class while retaining the rugged, go-anywhere hardware Jeep is famous for.
