Summary

This 2023 Kia Pegas EX offers a smart entry point into the sedan market, balancing modern tech with high-efficiency running costs. With its GCC-preferred silver exterior, this unit holds its value well in the local market while providing a surprisingly spacious cabin for its class. The EX trim elevates the daily drive with essential upgrades like a 7-inch touchscreen and artificial leather seats, making it a cut above base commuter options. Ideally suited for city navigation and inter-emirate highway commutes, it benefits from the massive regional support of the Kia service network. This specific listing represents a reliable opportunity for those seeking a near-new vehicle with proven mechanical durability.

This Car vs Other 2023 Kia Pegass

With 72,000 km on the odometer, this Pegas has been driven slightly more than the typical 25,000 km annual GCC average, yet its condition reflects the robust highway-heavy use typical of UAE commuters. The silver exterior is one of the top three resale colors in the region, ensuring quicker liquidity and better value retention than non-standard shades. As a GCC-spec model, it is fully optimized for local fuel grades and high-ambient temperature cooling.

EX vs Lower Trims

The EX trim provides significant quality-of-life upgrades over the base LX, including a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition to the tech suite, the EX adds a rearview camera, cruise control, and artificial leather upholstery that is far easier to maintain in the dusty local climate. Exterior enhancements such as 14-inch alloy wheels and chrome door handles give it a more premium presence on the road.

Pegas vs Segment Rivals

The Pegas leads the sub-compact segment with a class-competitive 475-litre boot, significantly outpacing the Toyota Yaris in raw luggage capacity for family road trips. While rivals like the Hyundai Accent offer more horsepower, the Pegas focuses on running costs with a highly efficient 1.4L engine that is widely regarded for its simple, low-cost maintenance. Its compact 5.2-meter turning radius also makes it easier to park in congested urban areas compared to larger B-segment sedans.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically stays between 5.7 and 6.5 L/100km, making it one of the most cost-effective petrol sedans for long highway stretches between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Kia’s service network is among the strongest in the GCC, with parts widely available and affordable across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. The model experiences a steady depreciation rate of approximately 10-12% annually, performing well against European rivals due to its reputation for mechanical simplicity.

Performance & Capability

The 1.4L four-cylinder engine delivers 95 hp, which is perfectly suited for steady cruising and city traffic efficiency. While it is not built for high-speed performance, the Pegas handles the 120-140 km/h UAE highway limits with predictable stability and a refined, subdued engine note. The 150mm ground clearance is adequate for standard speed bumps and minor sand accumulation on paved secondary roads.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed to maximize space, featuring a driver's armrest and a height-adjustable seat that are rare at this price point. The air conditioning system is specifically tuned for GCC summers, providing rapid cooling even in temperatures exceeding 45°C. The artificial leather seats in this EX trim offer a durable surface that resists the heat better than standard cloth, while rotatable air ducts allow for precise airflow control for all five passengers.

Safety

Standard safety features on this EX trim include dual front airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC). The inclusion of a rearview camera with parking guidelines and rear parking sensors provides extra confidence during tight city maneuvers. For families, the ISOFIX child seat anchors are standard, ensuring a secure fit for younger passengers during daily commutes.

The bottom line

This Kia Pegas EX is the ideal choice for a budget-conscious professional or a small family looking for a tech-equipped, high-efficiency sedan with the peace of mind of a massive regional service network.
