Summary

This 2023 Kia Telluride EX represents a savvy purchase in the GCC market, combining the refreshed styling of the latest generation with the high-demand 8-seat configuration. With 85,000 km, it has been primarily utilized for long-distance commuting, a common and mechanically sound use case for large V6 SUVs in this region. The white exterior is the premier choice for the UAE climate, offering the highest thermal efficiency and the strongest resale liquidity at trade-in time. As an EX trim, it strikes the ideal balance between premium leather-clad comfort and the practical utility required for large family logistics. The Telluride has consistently outperformed rivals in the segment through its car-like refinement and superior standard safety tech, making it a reliable staple for GCC families.

This Car vs Other 2023 Tellurides

At 85,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is slightly above the GCC annual average, reflecting the typical highway-heavy usage of an executive family hauler. This is often a buying advantage as it indicates a history of consistent, long-range operation which is easier on the engine than stop-start city idling. The Glacial White finish remains the most sought-after color in the local used market, ensuring faster resale and better value retention than darker alternatives.

EX vs Lower Trims

The EX trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the LX and S trims by introducing genuine leather upholstery and essential ventilated front seats—a non-negotiable feature for GCC summers. It also adds a smart hands-free power liftgate and sound-absorbing front door glass, providing a noticeably quieter and more convenient cabin environment for daily family runs and school drops.

Telluride vs Segment Rivals

The Telluride leads the Toyota Highlander and Honda Pilot in cabin tech integration, featuring a standard 12.3-inch display and more comprehensive driver assistance systems at this trim level. Its 3.8L V6 provides a traditional, robust power delivery that GCC buyers often prefer over the smaller turbocharged units found in newer rivals. With 601 liters of boot space behind the third row, it offers superior practicality for weekend trips to the coast or desert.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the AWD 3.8L V6 averages approximately 12.6 L/100km in GCC city traffic and drops to 9.8 L/100km on the highway. Kia's extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia ensures parts availability and competitive maintenance costs compared to American or European rivals. The Telluride holds strong value, typically retaining around 75-78% of its original price after two years in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 295 hp V6 engine enables a 0–100 km/h sprint in 7.6 seconds, providing confident overtaking power on fast-moving highways like the E11. With a 2,268 kg braked towing capacity and a capable AWD system, it is well-suited for light off-road excursions and hauling jet skis for beach weekends. The 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smooth shifts, ensuring a relaxed experience during cross-country drives between emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

This EX trim features a dedicated 8-seat layout with tri-zone climate control, ensuring the third row remains cool even in peak summer heat. The cabin is insulated with acoustic glass, while the ventilated seats and leather trim provide a premium feel that rivals many luxury-badged vehicles. Multiple USB ports across all three rows cater to the connectivity needs of large families on long road trips.

Safety

The Telluride EX comes equipped with a full suite of ADAS technology, including Forward Collision-Avoidance, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance, and Lane Keeping Assist. The Highway Driving Assist (HDA) is particularly valuable for the long, straight desert roads of the GCC, automatically managing speed and following distance. Standard features like rear cross-traffic alert and safe exit assist provide extra peace of mind in busy urban parking environments.

The bottom line

For the growing GCC family, this Telluride EX offers the perfect mix of updated 2023 styling, essential cooling features, and proven V6 reliability in the region's most popular resale color.
