Summary

This 3-year-old Lexus GX460 stands as one of the last opportunities to own a naturally aspirated V8 in the luxury SUV segment. As a GCC-spec Premier trim, it balances rugged body-on-frame durability with the refined interior appointments local buyers expect from the brand. While the mileage reflects active use typical for a long-distance UAE commuter, the model's legendary reputation for mechanical longevity makes it a secure choice for the local market. Finished in a high-resale white, this SUV remains a staple for families who require both off-road capability for desert weekends and premium comfort for city driving.

This Car vs Other 2023 GX460s

With 90,370 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven more than the average GCC luxury car but remains well within the expected range for a 3-year-old highway commuter in the region. The white exterior is the most sought-after color in the UAE used market, ensuring the strongest possible resale value and better heat management during summer months. Mechanically, these vehicles are engineered for high-mileage duty, often outlasting rivals with much lower usage.

PREMIER vs Lower Trims

The Premier trim provides a significant jump in luxury over the base model, most notably adding ventilated front seats which are essential for the GCC climate. It also includes an upgraded 10.3-inch touchscreen with integrated navigation and a 360-degree camera system for easier parking in tight urban spaces. These additions, along with the tri-zone climate control, make it a much more desirable configuration for local buyers compared to the entry-level spec.

GX460 vs Segment Rivals

The GX460 distinguishes itself from monocoque rivals like the BMW X5 or Audi Q7 by utilizing a rugged body-on-frame construction shared with the Land Cruiser Prado. This hardware allows for superior off-road durability and a dedicated low-range transfer case that road-biased crossovers lack. Furthermore, its naturally aspirated V8 offers a linear power delivery and long-term reliability that is increasingly rare among its turbocharged competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.6L V8 typically averages around 13.4 L/100km, reflecting its focus on power and durability over small-displacement efficiency. Lexus maintains one of the most extensive authorized service networks across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring that maintenance and genuine parts are always accessible. This model historically enjoys one of the lowest depreciation rates in the GCC, often retaining its value better than European luxury SUVs after three years of ownership.

Performance & Capability

The 300 hp V8 engine provides a smooth, torque-rich experience that is perfectly suited for overtaking on the E11 or navigating soft sand during weekend escapes. With a verified towing capacity of 2,948 kg and a robust full-time 4WD system with a Torsen limited-slip center differential, it is as much a workhorse as it is a luxury cruiser. The 206 mm ground clearance and Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) ensure it remains composed whether on a rocky wadi trail or a high-speed highway run.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout is designed for family versatility, featuring a reclining and sliding second row for optimized legroom. The cabin is specifically insulated to handle extreme GCC temperatures, supported by a powerful air conditioning system with dedicated vents for all three rows. Premium materials and power-adjustable ventilated seats ensure that even long cross-border drives across the region are completed in total comfort.

Safety

This Premier trim comes standard with the Lexus Safety System+, featuring high-speed dynamic radar cruise control for effortless desert highway driving and a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection. Safety is further enhanced by ten standard airbags and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, providing essential protection in fast-moving multi-lane traffic. The inclusion of trailer sway control also adds a layer of security for those utilizing the vehicle's significant towing capabilities.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer seeking a bulletproof V8 SUV that transitions seamlessly from executive commuting to desert exploration, this 2023 Premier trim represents a high-value entry into the Lexus lifestyle.
