Mercedes Benz CLA250 AMG

Highlights

• 0–100 km/h in 6.3 seconds
• 221 hp from a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder
• 250 km/h top speed

Summary

This 2023 model represents a compelling opportunity for GCC buyers, offering exceptionally low mileage for its age in a market where 25,000 km per year is common. The white exterior is the most sought-after color for resale across the region, effectively reflecting heat while holding its value better than darker shades. Equipped with the AMG styling package and 4MATIC all-wheel drive, this sedan bridges the gap between a daily commuter and a performance-oriented cruiser. Its compact footprint makes it ideal for navigating busy urban centers like Dubai or Riyadh, while the turbocharged engine provides the punch needed for confident highway overtaking. For the buyer who wants Mercedes-Benz prestige with modern tech and minimal wear, this is a standout choice.

This Car vs Other 2023 CLA250s

With just 13,933 km on the odometer, this vehicle has covered significantly less distance than the average 2023 model in the GCC, which typically sees 40,000 km by this stage. The white finish is a strategic choice for the local market, ensuring the highest possible liquidity and price floor at the time of resale. Choosing a low-mileage example like this minimizes immediate maintenance needs and preserves the factory-fresh feel of the interior.

AMG vs Lower Trims

The AMG trim transforms the sedan's aesthetic with a more aggressive diamond-block grille, 18-inch AMG twin 5-spoke wheels, and distinctive body styling that standard trims lack. Inside, the cabin is upgraded with sport seats featuring fixed head restraints and a Nappa leather multifunction sport steering wheel, providing a more tactile and premium driving environment. These visual and ergonomic enhancements are highly valued by GCC buyers and directly contribute to the car's stronger market presence compared to the base Progressive line.

CLA250 vs Segment Rivals

The CLA250 competes directly with the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe and Audi A3, leading the segment in pure aesthetic presence with its 'four-door coupe' silhouette. It offers a more advanced MBUX infotainment experience with standard 64-color ambient lighting that surpasses the interior atmosphere of its rivals. Additionally, the standard 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system provides superior stability during occasional heavy rain or on the sandy road surfaces common across the Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel consumption is efficient for the region, averaging approximately 8.6 L/100km on a combined cycle, which balances city traffic needs with long-range highway efficiency. Mercedes-Benz maintains one of the most robust authorized service networks in the GCC, with extensive facility coverage ensuring high-quality maintenance from Abu Dhabi to Muscat. As a late-model Mercedes with the AMG package, it follows a predictable depreciation curve of roughly 12-15% annually, making it a safer financial asset than many niche luxury competitors.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine delivers a sharp 221 hp, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 6.3 seconds, which is perfectly suited for the fast-paced merging required on the E11 or Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. The 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system ensures power is distributed effectively, providing consistent traction even when temperatures soar and road surfaces become slick. With a top speed of 250 km/h, the car remains composed and quiet at the high cruising speeds common on inter-city GCC routes.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is designed for the high-temperature GCC climate, featuring a powerful dual-zone automatic climate control system and high-quality MB-Tex upholstery that remains cooler to the touch than traditional leather. The MBUX system with twin 10.25-inch displays offers seamless smartphone integration, while the customizable ambient lighting allows you to set the cabin mood for evening drives. Despite its sporty profile, it comfortably seats five and features a 40/20/40 split-folding rear seat for versatile cargo management during weekend road trips.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive, featuring standard Blind Spot Assist which is vital for the multi-lane highway driving of the GCC. The suite includes Active Brake Assist, Forward Collision Mitigation, and Attention Assist to monitor driver fatigue on long desert stretches. Mercedes-Benz also includes Safe Exit Assist, a crucial feature for urban parking that prevents doors from being opened into approaching traffic or cyclists.

The bottom line

This is the ideal opportunity for a young professional or small family seeking a nearly-new Mercedes-Benz that avoids the steepest part of the depreciation curve while offering the prestige of the AMG line.
