Summary

This 2023 CLS450 4MATIC offers a unique combination of low mileage and the final model year of its generation, making it a standout luxury choice in the UAE. Its sleek four-door coupe silhouette differentiates it from traditional executive sedans, while the refined six-cylinder powertrain provides smooth highway performance. With only 15,000 km, this vehicle sits well below the typical 25,000 km annual average for the GCC, representing a strong buying opportunity for those seeking a near-new experience. Finished in white, the car benefits from the region’s most popular resale color, ensuring better long-term value retention. For the GCC buyer, the standard high-spec cabin tech and reliable 4MATIC all-wheel drive provide the stability and comfort needed for year-round driving between Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2023 CLS450s

With just 15,000 km on the odometer, this CLS450 has significantly lower usage than typical GCC-market cars of the same year, which often average 20,000 to 25,000 km annually. Its white exterior is a massive advantage for local resale, as it remains the most sought-after color in the UAE due to heat reflection and market preference. Being the final production year for this generation, it benefits from the most refined iteration of the model's technology and build quality.

4MATIC vs Lower Trims

The 4MATIC trim adds Mercedes-Benz's sophisticated all-wheel-drive system, providing superior traction on rain-slicked highways or gravel-covered suburban roads compared to standard rear-wheel-drive variants. This specific Korean-spec model typically includes premium features that are often optional in other regions, such as the 360° surround-view camera and advanced ventilated seating. It also features a larger 12.3-inch digital cockpit and MBUX infotainment suite, which are essential for navigating the fast-paced UAE road network.

CLS450 vs Segment Rivals

The CLS450 leads rivals like the Audi A7 and BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe in pure aesthetic impact, offering the most dramatic roofline in the executive segment. Its 80-litre fuel tank provides a generous highway range, ideal for long-distance commutes from Dubai to Abu Dhabi or cross-border travel to Oman. The Mercedes cabin is also widely recognized for superior acoustic insulation, keeping the interior significantly quieter in high-speed highway traffic compared to its peers.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this six-cylinder powertrain averages roughly 8.0 L/100km on highways and 11.5 L/100km in stop-start city traffic typical of Dubai or Riyadh. Mercedes-Benz maintains one of the most extensive authorized service networks in the GCC, with major centers in every Emirate and across Saudi Arabia. While European luxury sedans generally see a 15-18% annual depreciation, the CLS450’s status as a discontinued icon and its popular white color help it retain value more effectively than standard executive sedans. Regular service is typically scheduled every 15,000 km in the GCC to maintain optimal performance in high temperatures.

Performance & Capability

The CLS450 delivers an official 0–100 km/h time of 4.8 seconds, offering effortless overtaking power for the fast lanes of the E11 highway. The 300 hp six-cylinder engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission that is tuned for smooth, linear power delivery rather than aggressive shifts. Standard 4MATIC all-wheel drive ensures the car remains planted during sudden lane changes or during the rare but heavy GCC rain showers. Multiple drive modes allow the driver to prioritize fuel efficiency for city cruising or sharpen the steering and throttle response for a more engaged weekend drive.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is a masterclass in insulation, utilizing acoustic glass to shield passengers from the UAE's summer heat and road noise. Standard features on this trim include ventilated front seats, which are a necessity for comfort during the peak GCC summer months where temperatures exceed 45°C. The interior is highlighted by 64-color ambient lighting and premium leather upholstery, creating a high-end atmosphere for evening drives. Despite the sleek roofline, the front seats offer ample legroom for taller drivers, and the 12.3-inch displays provide clear, high-resolution navigation maps.

Safety

This CLS450 comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of active safety systems, including Active Brake Assist and Blind Spot Assist, which are particularly valuable on multi-lane UAE highways. The standard 360° camera makes maneuvering this long sedan into tight mall parking spaces effortless. Additionally, Pre-Safe technology prepares the cabin and occupants if an imminent collision is detected, a feature that distinguishes Mercedes-Benz in the premium safety segment. Adaptive cruise control is also typically standard on this trim, easing the fatigue of long desert highway journeys.

The bottom line

For a GCC buyer, this 2023 CLS450 represents the best of the final generation, offering a low-mileage opportunity in the most desirable resale color for the region. It is the perfect choice for an executive who wants the comfort of an E-Class but the head-turning style of a coupe.
