What can we say, we’re absolutely thrilled to have our hands on this Mercedes G63 4x4² in brand new condition, not only is your standard G63 absolutely mind blowing, this G63 4x4² is one step further in every aspect, turning heads in its Arabian Grey paint.
Powering the biggest G63 is AMG's 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 which pushes 577 horsepower and 829nm of torque. The power hits an off-road-optimized edition of AMG's nine-speed wet-clutch automatic transmission complete with a transfer case (for 4-Low) and permanent AWD. The G-Class 4x4² has three locking differentials (centre, rear, and front—they lock in that specific order). Unlike the standard G-Waggon this model has three seemingly hidden off-road modes, Sand, Trail, and Rock. They're kind of hidden because you can't access any of them unless you lock the centre diff. And apart from its incredible offroad capabilities it can also push from 0 to 100kph in 5.1 seconds!
Although your standard G63 already feels like one of the biggest vehicles on the road, this 4x4² is notably larger due to it being equipped with front and rear portal axles (with independent suspension) that give a ground clearance of 13.8 inches. That’s 4.3 inches more than the standard G63. This means the off-roader can climb a 45-degree grade and can wade water at levels of up to about 35.8 inches. Albeit almost resembling a monster truck from the outside, once you’re sat in the drivers seat you almost detach yourself from this fact and can enjoy the luxury feel of this Mercedes and the drive feels as you would be in the standard G-Waggon.
As always, the interior of the Mercedes is superior in almost every way, with their Nappa leather upholstery in platinum white and black paired with their ambient illumination and digital dash and touchscreen infotainment with ‘Mercedes Me’, Apple Car Play and Wireless charging.
