Summary

This 2023 Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer Select is a rare petrol-powered GCC-spec example that bridges the gap between a rugged commercial van and a luxury MPV. With a 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system, it offers superior stability on the UAE's high-speed highways and during unpredictable weather compared to the standard rear-wheel-drive variants. The Green exterior is a distinctive choice that stands out in a market dominated by white and silver, while the Select trim ensures a level of passenger comfort usually reserved for the V-Class. For the GCC buyer, this model represents a reliable family or executive hauler with a proven 2.0L engine that handles the regional heat with ease. Its 8-seat layout is perfectly suited for larger families or high-end transport services looking for German engineering without the V-Class price tag.

This Car vs Other 2023 Vitos

With 81,050 km, this Vito has been utilized for consistent highway commuting, which is typical for versatile people movers in the GCC. While higher than a weekend-only car, this mileage reflects the model's reliability in a climate where 25,000 km per year is the standard. The petrol engine is particularly desirable for city use in Dubai and Riyadh, offering a quieter and more refined idle than the common diesel variants.

TOURER SELECT vs Lower Trims

The Select trim adds significant luxury over the Base and Pro variants, most notably the color-coded bumpers and 17-inch light-alloy wheels that elevate its exterior presence. Inside, it features the quick-release seat rail system, allowing for flexible legroom adjustments, alongside TEMPMATIC semi-automatic climate control with dedicated rear vents. You also benefit from the Parking Package including a 360° camera and the MBUX multimedia system, features often omitted on lower work-focused trims.

Vito vs Segment Rivals

The Vito stands out against rivals like the Toyota Hiace and Ford Transit by offering a more car-like driving experience and a significantly higher level of cabin refinement. While the Hiace leads in pure volume, the Mercedes provides a superior 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system that competitors rarely offer in this segment. The German build quality also ensures a quieter cabin on long cross-country drives between Abu Dhabi and Muscat.

Running Costs & Resale

Petrol Vitos are highly regarded in the UAE for their easier maintenance compared to modern Euro 6 diesel systems, which require AdBlue. Service intervals are typically scheduled every 15,000 km at authorized Mercedes-Benz centers, which are widely available across all major GCC cities. As a GCC-spec Mercedes van, it retains value better than European imports, with the Select trim specifically holding a premium due to its high demand in the hospitality and luxury transport sectors.

Performance & Capability

The 160 hp petrol engine is paired with a smooth automatic transmission, providing adequate power for full-load highway overtaking. The inclusion of the 4MATIC system is the real highlight here, ensuring maximum traction on wet roads or gravel paths leading to weekend desert campsites. It maintains a composed ride even when carrying a full complement of eight passengers, thanks to a suspension tuned for passenger comfort rather than just heavy cargo.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the GCC summer, featuring a high-performance TEMPMATIC air conditioning system that ensures even cooling for all three rows. The 8-seat configuration includes comfort-oriented bench seats with adjustable backrests, allowing passengers to relax during long inter-city transfers. High-quality interior materials and acoustic insulation significantly reduce road noise, making it a viable mobile office for executive use.

Safety

Safety is a Mercedes-Benz priority, and this Vito comes equipped with Crosswind Assist, which is vital for maintaining stability on exposed desert highways during high winds. The standard safety suite includes Attention Assist to monitor driver fatigue and a comprehensive airbag system covering the driver and front passenger. The 360° camera is particularly useful in this segment, making parking in tight urban spaces like Downtown Dubai significantly easier.

The bottom line

Perfect for large families or luxury transport businesses, this 4MATIC Vito Select offers German refinement and petrol convenience in a package that is ready for the GCC's demanding roads.
