Summary

This 2023 Mitsubishi Montero Sport in its range-topping GLS PREMIUM trim represents a highly strategic purchase for the discerning GCC buyer. With mileage that aligns perfectly with the regional average for a two-year-old vehicle, it offers the perfect balance of modern tech and proven mechanical durability. The exterior white finish is the most coveted color in the Middle East, ensuring maximum heat reflection during summer months and securing the highest possible resale value later on. As a genuine seven-seater with a robust 3.0L V6, it bridges the gap between a comfortable urban commuter and a weekend desert explorer better than almost any other mid-size SUV. In a market where reliability is the ultimate currency, this GCC-spec model stands out for its extensive service network and parts availability across the UAE and neighboring countries. Choosing this trim ensures you receive the full suite of luxury and safety features that are often stripped from lower-tier models, making it a complete package for family adventures and daily duty alike.

This Car vs Other 2023 Montero Sports

When comparing this specific 2023 Montero Sport to others currently available in the GCC market, the first thing to note is the mileage of 62,852 km. In a region where annual driving typically averages 25,000 km per year due to frequent commutes between emirates, this vehicle sits comfortably within the expected range for its age, suggesting it has been used as a primary family vehicle. The choice of White for the exterior is a significant advantage in our climate, as it maintains a cooler cabin temperature and resists the paint-fading effects of intense UV exposure better than darker tones. Furthermore, being a GCC-spec vehicle, it carries the peace of mind that comes with a cooling system and air conditioning unit specifically engineered for 50°C+ summers. While other listings might offer lower trim levels, this unit provides the full premium experience that holds its value significantly better over the long term. It is a well-maintained example of Mitsubishi's engineering, ready for several more years of high-heat operation without the common wear seen on imported non-regional specs.

GLS PREMIUM vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the GLS PREMIUM trim transforms the Montero Sport from a functional utility vehicle into a sophisticated family SUV. Unlike the base GLX or standard GLS models, the PREMIUM variant introduces high-end touches such as upgraded leather upholstery and a more advanced infotainment system that integrates seamlessly with modern smartphones. One of the most critical upgrades for GCC drivers is the inclusion of the 360-degree Multi-Around Monitor, which makes navigating tight parking spots in Dubai or Riyadh remarkably simple. You also benefit from an electronic parking brake and a power tailgate, features that add a layer of daily convenience that lower trims lack. The interior atmosphere is further elevated by premium sound insulation and soft-touch materials throughout the cabin, providing a quieter ride during high-speed highway cruising. For those who value safety and tech, this trim is the only way to access the full array of driver assistance systems that Mitsubishi offers in this segment.

Montero Sport vs Segment Rivals

In the competitive landscape of mid-size SUVs, the Montero Sport competes directly with the Toyota Fortuner and the Isuzu mu-X. Where this Mitsubishi leads is in its sophisticated Super Select II 4WD system, which allows for high-speed 4WD driving on tarmac—a feature many rivals only offer for off-road surfaces. The 3.0L V6 engine provides a smoother, more refined power delivery compared to the noisier diesel powerplants often found in this category, making it much more suitable for the urban lifestyle of the UAE. Additionally, the Montero Sport is widely recognized for having a more car-like interior design and a tighter turning circle than the Fortuner, which is a major benefit when navigating city traffic. For families, the Mitsubishi provides a superior balance of ride comfort thanks to its multi-link rear suspension, which absorbs road imperfections better than the stiffer leaf-spring setups found on some competitors. This makes it the ideal choice for those who need 4x4 capability but spend 90% of their time on the highway.

Running Costs & Resale

The Montero Sport is legendary in the GCC for its predictable and manageable running costs. The 3.0L V6 petrol engine is designed to run efficiently on standard fuel grades available across the region, and its real-world consumption reflects a balance of power and economy, especially during steady-state highway driving. Mitsubishi's service intervals are standard for the region, and with one of the most extensive authorized service networks in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, finding expert maintenance and genuine parts is never an issue. From a resale perspective, Mitsubishi vehicles are second only to Toyota and Nissan in value retention within the GCC market. You can expect a depreciation rate of approximately 10-12% annually, which is significantly lower than European SUVs in the same price bracket. At the three-year mark, a well-maintained, GCC-spec GLS PREMIUM in white remains a highly sought-after commodity on the used market, ensuring you recover a substantial portion of your investment when it's time to upgrade.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this vehicle is the robust 3.0-liter V6 engine, which delivers a seamless flow of power through a sophisticated 8-speed automatic transmission. This combination is particularly effective for highway overtaking on the E11 or long-distance journeys across the border, where the engine maintains a low RPM at high speeds to maximize comfort. Ground clearance is a standout feature, allowing the Montero Sport to tackle rocky wadis and soft sand dunes with confidence during weekend escapes. The Super Select 4WD-II system is a technical marvel, offering a dedicated gravel, mud/snow, sand, and rock mode to optimize traction across various GCC terrains. Whether you are towing a jet ski to the coast or navigating a sudden sandstorm, the four-wheel-drive system provides a level of stability and control that inspires total confidence. The 0-100 km/h performance is more than adequate for its class, but it is the low-end torque for off-road recovery and climbing that truly defines its capability.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Montero Sport GLS PREMIUM is designed to be a sanctuary from the harsh outdoor environment. The seven-seat layout is versatile, with the third row offering genuine utility for children or short trips for adults, while the second row features a tumble-forward mechanism for easy access. The air conditioning system is a particular highlight; engineered for the extreme heat of the Arabian Peninsula, it features roof-mounted vents for both the second and third rows to ensure every passenger stays cool regardless of the outside temperature. The cabin is insulated with high-quality materials that reduce wind and road noise, creating a premium environment for conversation or enjoying the high-fidelity audio system. With multiple USB charging ports distributed throughout the cabin, every family member can stay connected during long road trips between emirates. The power-adjustable driver’s seat and ergonomic dashboard layout ensure that even after several hours behind the wheel, the driver remains refreshed and alert.

Safety

Safety is a paramount consideration in the GLS PREMIUM trim, which comes equipped with an impressive array of active and passive systems. It features seven airbags as standard, providing comprehensive protection for all occupants in the event of a collision. For the fast-moving highways of the GCC, the Blind Spot Warning and Lane Change Assist systems are invaluable tools that help prevent accidents during lane transitions. The Forward Collision Mitigation system uses radar to monitor the gap between you and the car ahead, providing audible warnings and even applying the brakes if a risk is detected. Additionally, the Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation System is a unique feature that prevents accidental acceleration into obstacles at low speeds, such as in parking garages. The vehicle's reinforced RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) body structure is designed to absorb energy effectively, further contributing to its reputation as one of the safest SUVs in its segment.

The bottom line

This Montero Sport is the ideal choice for a GCC family that needs a rugged, reliable 4x4 without sacrificing the luxury and tech of a modern SUV. Given its high-demand color and premium trim level, this specific listing represents an excellent value proposition for someone looking to bypass the initial depreciation of a brand-new vehicle while still enjoying a nearly new experience.
