Highlights

• 482 km electric range (WLTP)
• 0–100 km/h in 4.5 seconds
• 150 kW peak DC charging

Summary

This GCC-spec Polestar 2 is a standout opportunity, showing significantly lower mileage than the typical 60,000–75,000 km expected for a vehicle of this age in the UAE. As the Long Range Dual Motor variant, it offers the superior performance and grip of all-wheel drive, which is highly valued in the local market compared to the base single-motor trims. The Black exterior is a perennially strong resale color in the GCC, ensuring better value retention when it comes time to trade. Combining Scandinavian minimalist design with the instant torque required for effortless highway overtaking, this fastback is perfectly suited for the daily Dubai-Abu Dhabi commute. With its remaining battery warranty and cutting-edge Google-integrated cabin, it represents one of the most modern EV ownership experiences available today.

This Car vs Other 2023 Polestar 2s

With only 18,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven less than 6,000 km per year, which is exceptionally low for the GCC market where annual averages often exceed 20,000 km. The Black paint remains a preferred choice for professional and executive buyers in the UAE, providing a significant resale advantage over bolder, niche colors. This low-mileage example offers a like-new mechanical state that is rare for 3-year-old electric vehicles currently listed.

PS2 LONG RANGE DUAL MOTOR vs Lower Trims

Choosing the Dual Motor trim upgrades the driving experience from front-wheel drive to a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system, nearly doubling the horsepower of the base model for a much more responsive feel. This trim typically includes the upgraded 78 kWh battery, providing the necessary range for cross-emirate travel without frequent charging stops. Buyers also benefit from a more premium interior execution and enhanced software features compared to the Standard Range versions.

Polestar 2 vs Segment Rivals

The Polestar 2 leads the Tesla Model 3 in build quality and material selection, offering a more traditional luxury feel that GCC buyers appreciate. Its liftback design provides a more versatile opening than the BMW i4, making it easier to load large items or shopping for family trips. The integrated Google Automotive OS is arguably the most intuitive system in the segment, offering native Google Maps that perform flawlessly across the UAE and Oman.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world energy consumption averages approximately 19.4 kWh/100km, which translates to a fraction of the cost of petrol for the same distance in GCC stop-start traffic. Service intervals are generous at 30,000 km or 2 years, with Al Futtaim providing an established authorized service network across the UAE for peace of mind. While European EVs generally see higher depreciation than Japanese petrol cars, the Polestar 2 has shown resilient value retention at the 3-year mark due to its high demand and limited local supply.

Performance & Capability

The dual-motor setup delivers a combined 408 hp, propelling the car from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds—performance that rivals many dedicated sports cars on the E11 highway. The 660 Nm of torque is available instantly, providing effortless power for merging into fast-moving traffic or climbing the winding roads of Jebel Jais. With a 150 kW peak charging capacity, the battery can be replenished from 10% to 80% in approximately 35 minutes at any compatible fast charger.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is a masterclass in Scandinavian minimalism, featuring sustainable materials that remain cool to the touch even in the height of the UAE summer. The powerful climate control system is engineered to handle extreme heat, quickly bringing the cabin to a comfortable temperature after being parked outdoors. The 405-liter rear boot is complemented by a front 'frunk' for charging cables, ensuring maximum practicality for weekend getaways.

Safety

Drawing on its Volvo heritage, this Polestar 2 features a comprehensive suite of safety tech including Pilot Assist, which combines Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Aid for relaxed long-distance driving. The 360-degree camera system is standard, making navigation through tight mall parking structures effortless. Active safety features like Blind Spot Information with steering assist and Forward Collision Warning are particularly effective for the high-speed multi-lane environments common in Dubai and Riyadh.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for an eco-conscious executive looking for a low-mileage, high-performance EV that commands respect on the road and holds its value through a premium trim and color combination.
