Tesla Model 3 PERFORMANCE

Highlights

• 0–100 km/h in 3.3 seconds
• 567 km electric range (WLTP)
• 250 kW peak DC charging standard

Summary

This Performance trim stands out as the ultimate iteration of the electric sedan that redefined the segment, offering supercar-level acceleration in a practical five-seat package. With 77,000 km over five years, this vehicle has been driven well below the typical 25,000 km annual average for the UAE, suggesting a well-preserved battery and mechanical components. The Deep Blue Metallic finish is a high-demand color in the GCC, offering better variety than standard white while maintaining strong resale appeal. For the GCC buyer, the standard all-wheel drive provides exceptional stability on high-speed desert highways, while the Heat Pump system introduced in this model year ensures efficient cabin cooling during peak summer. This is a highly relevant buy for those looking to transition to EV ownership without sacrificing performance or regional service support.

This Car vs Other 2021 Model 3s

At 77,000 km, this vehicle’s usage is significantly lower than the GCC average of roughly 100,000 km to 125,000 km expected for a five-year-old car in this region. This lower mileage typically translates to less wear on the suspension and interior upholstery, which can suffer under the intense local heat. The Deep Blue exterior is a sought-after alternative to the common white and silver, often commanding a quicker sale in the secondary market.

PERFORMANCE vs Lower Trims

The Performance trim is distinguished by its 20-inch Uberturbine wheels, lowered suspension, and uprated Performance Brakes with red calipers for better heat dissipation. It also unlocks the Track Mode software, allowing for customizable torque distribution and enhanced cooling—ideal for enthusiasts frequenting the Dubai Autodrome or Yas Marina. Unlike the Standard Range, this trim includes the Premium Interior with a 15-speaker audio system and heated seats for all five passengers.

Model 3 vs Segment Rivals

The Model 3 Performance leads rivals like the BMW i4 and Polestar 2 in terms of charging infrastructure, with seamless access to the extensive Tesla Supercharger network across the UAE and growing presence in Saudi Arabia. Its minimalist cabin offers a larger 15-inch central command center that manages everything from navigation to the powerful AC system, which is widely regarded as one of the most effective in the EV segment for GCC summers. The front trunk (frunk) provides additional storage that front-motored rivals often lack.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are exceptionally low, with no oil changes, spark plugs, or transmission services required; typical maintenance is limited to tire rotations and cabin air filters every 20,000 km. While premium European sedans often see 15% annual depreciation in the GCC, the Model 3 has shown stronger value retention due to constant over-the-air software updates that keep the technology current. Tesla’s official service centers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, plus expanding mobile service units in Riyadh, provide reliable long-term support.

Performance & Capability

With a verified 0–100 km/h time of 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 261 km/h, this car delivers instant torque that makes highway overtaking effortless on major routes like the E11. The Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive system continuously adjusts power to all four wheels, ensuring maximum grip during the occasional GCC rain shower or on dusty road surfaces. It features a 250 kW peak charging rate, allowing for approximately 299 km of range to be added in just 15 minutes at a Supercharger.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around a 15-inch touchscreen and features a full glass roof that is heavily tinted to protect against UV rays and GCC heat. Dual-zone climate control is supplemented by rear air vents, ensuring all five passengers remain comfortable during midday drives. The acoustic glass and improved weather sealing in this model year significantly reduce wind noise during high-speed highway cruising between Emirates.

Safety

This Model 3 comes standard with Tesla’s full suite of active safety features, including Autopilot with emergency braking, lane departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring, which are vital for navigating fast-moving multi-lane traffic. The car’s low center of gravity, due to the floor-mounted battery pack, provides exceptional rollover protection. Additionally, Sentry Mode uses the external cameras to monitor the vehicle when parked, providing peace of mind in busy metropolitan areas.

The bottom line

This is a prime opportunity for a buyer seeking the flagship Performance trim with mileage well below the GCC market average, backed by Tesla's mature regional service network.
