Summary

This 4-year-old BMW X6 presents a compelling option for those seeking the prestige of a Sports Activity Coupe with a balanced inline-six powertrain. Finished in a market-preferred Grey, it offers strong resale potential in the GCC, where the X6 consistently maintains a high profile. The M Sport Pro trim provides a significantly more aggressive aesthetic and sharper handling compared to the standard model, making it a standout choice for urban commuting in Dubai or Riyadh. With the xDrive all-wheel-drive system and a high-quality leather interior, it remains a robust and luxurious choice for the region's unique driving demands.

This Car vs Other 2022 X6s

At 81,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is closely aligned with the typical GCC annual average of 20,000 km for premium SUVs. The Grey exterior is one of the most resilient and sought-after colors in the local used market, ensuring better value retention than more niche shades. Being a GCC-spec model, it is fully optimized for local cooling requirements and benefits from comprehensive service center compatibility across the Emirates and neighboring countries.

M SPORT PRO vs Lower Trims

The M Sport Pro trim elevates the X6 with high-gloss Shadowline exterior trim, an M Sport aerodynamic kit, and upgraded M Sport brakes. Inside, it adds a premium Harman Kardon surround sound system and M-specific interior touches that are often missing from the base xDrive40i. It also features 21-inch or 22-inch wheel options that provide a more commanding presence on fast-moving UAE highways.

X6 vs Segment Rivals

The BMW X6 leads rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe and Porsche Cayenne in terms of its intuitive iDrive technology and sharp handling dynamics. While the Cayenne offers a more focused sports car feel, the X6 provides a larger 83-liter fuel tank, making it better suited for long-distance desert highway drives between Abu Dhabi and Muscat. Its interior refinement and digital cockpit layout remain benchmarks for the luxury coupe-SUV segment.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.0L inline-six typically averages around 10.5L/100km in mixed GCC driving, benefiting from the 48V mild-hybrid system in stop-start city traffic. Maintenance intervals are managed by BMW’s Condition Based Service (CBS) system, typically flagging an oil service every 10,000 to 12,000 km. In the GCC market, the X6 xDrive40i retains value remarkably well, often depreciating at a slower rate than its V8-powered counterparts due to lower long-term maintenance costs.

Performance & Capability

The 340 hp inline-six engine delivers a refined yet punchy 0–100 km/h sprint of 5.6 seconds, perfect for confident overtaking on high-speed arterial roads. The xDrive all-wheel-drive system provides exceptional stability on sandy or gravel-strewn road shoulders, while the standard Adaptive M Suspension allows the driver to toggle between firm sportiness and highway-gliding comfort. With a braked towing capacity of up to 3,270 kg, it is also surprisingly capable for weekend towing needs.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around BMW’s Live Cockpit Professional, featuring dual 12.3-inch displays that remain clear even in direct UAE sunlight. Multi-zone climate control with powerful rear cooling vents ensures all five passengers stay comfortable during the peak of summer. The M Sport Pro package further enhances the experience with Vernasca leather sport seats and acoustic glazing that significantly reduces road and wind noise during high-speed travel.

Safety

This X6 is equipped with an extensive safety suite, including Active Blind Spot Detection and Frontal Collision Warning, which are essential for navigating multi-lane highway traffic. The 360-degree Surround View camera system makes maneuvering this large coupe-SUV effortless in tight urban parking spots. Additionally, the xDrive system constantly monitors traction, providing an extra layer of safety during occasional rain-slicked roads or dusty conditions.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer wanting the aggressive M Sport look without the running costs of a V8, this 2022 X6 xDrive40i M Sport Pro is an ideal middle ground. Its reliable inline-six and strong regional spec make it a safe, high-status investment in today's market.
