Summary

This Porsche 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 offers a rare combination of modern refinement and the visceral thrill of a naturally aspirated flat-six engine. With just 21,853 km on the odometer, this 2023 model sits well below the typical GCC annual mileage, presenting a near-new ownership experience. The Grey exterior is a highly desirable and stable resale choice in the local market, complementing the aggressive GTS-specific styling. As one of the final iterations of the internal combustion mid-engine series, this car represents a significant opportunity for enthusiasts seeking a pure driving machine before the segment shifts toward electrification. It is perfectly suited for the UAE's well-maintained highways and weekend drives to the Northern Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2023 718 Boxsters

While many 2023 models in the GCC have already surpassed the 35,000 km mark due to long-distance commuting, this example has been driven sparingly at approximately 10,000 km per year. The Grey finish is a premier choice for the region, offering better heat management than darker tones while maintaining much stronger resale demand than niche colors. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it retains the full cooling capacity and authorized service support essential for the local climate.

GTS vs Lower Trims

The GTS 4.0 is a transformative upgrade over the Boxster S, replacing the 2.5-liter four-cylinder with a prestigious 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six. Beyond the 400 hp output, this trim adds the Sport Chrono package, Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with a mechanical limited-slip differential, and the PASM sport suspension lowered by 20mm as standard. GCC buyers will particularly value the upgraded cooling and the more resonant sport exhaust system that defines the GTS identity.

718 Boxster vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the BMW Z4 M40i or the Jaguar F-Type, the 718 Boxster GTS leads with its mid-engine balance and superior steering precision. Its 64-litre fuel tank provides a generous cruising range for cross-emirate trips, and the dual-trunk configuration (front and rear) offers more practical storage for weekend getaways than most dedicated sports cars. The Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission remains the industry benchmark for rapid, seamless shifts in both city traffic and spirited driving.

Running Costs & Resale

Porsche 718 models equipped with the 4.0L engine enjoy exceptional value retention in the GCC, often depreciating at a slower rate than the four-cylinder variants due to their enthusiast appeal. Real-world fuel consumption averages between 10.1 and 10.9 L/100km, which is competitive for a high-performance six-cylinder. Service centers are widely available through authorized dealers in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and across the GCC, with standard minor service intervals every 15,000 km or annually.

Performance & Capability

The 400 hp naturally aspirated engine delivers a linear power delivery and a 7,800 rpm redline that turbocharged rivals cannot match. With the PDK transmission, it launches to 100 km/h in just 4.0 seconds and reaches a top speed of 293 km/h, making it exceptionally capable for highway overtaking. The mid-engine layout ensures the car remains flat and composed through high-speed corners at the Dubai Autodrome or on winding mountain roads.

Comfort & Cabin

The two-seat cabin is focused and ergonomic, featuring the 7-inch Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system with Apple CarPlay as standard. In the GCC, the powerful dual-zone climate control is a standout, rapidly cooling the compact cabin even in peak summer temperatures. The GTS interior package uses high-quality Race-Tex and leather, providing excellent grip and comfort for long-distance drives across the UAE.

Safety

This GTS comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Porsche Stability Management (PSM), advanced airbags, and high-performance cross-drilled brakes. The standard front and rear parking sensors with a rear-view camera are essential for urban navigation, while the adaptive bi-xenon headlights provide superior visibility on unlit desert highways at night.

The bottom line

This is a low-mileage, GCC-spec GTS 4.0 that perfectly bridges the gap between a daily driver and a future collectible, making it a strategic buy for a discerning UAE enthusiast.
