Summary

This 2023 Toyota Fortuner VXR is a standout opportunity, combining very low mileage with the most desirable powertrain and trim level for the GCC. The 4.0L V6 provides the necessary muscle for highway overtaking and desert climbs that the smaller 2.7L engine often lacks. As a VXR, it bridges the gap between a rugged workhorse and a family SUV with premium touches like ventilated leather seats and a 360° camera. Its white exterior remains the gold standard for resale strength across the Emirates and Saudi Arabia. For any buyer in the region, the unmatched reliability and widespread parts availability make this the safest long-term automotive investment available.

This Car vs Other 2023 Fortuners

With just 12,553 km on the odometer, this Fortuner has covered less than half the distance of a typical one-year-old vehicle in the GCC, where annual averages often reach 25,000 km. The white pearl exterior is the most sought-after color in the local market, ensuring it stays cooler in the summer and retains maximum value at resale. This specific listing represents a nearly-new mechanical state that is increasingly rare for this model year.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR trim is a significant step up from the EXR and GXR, adding essential GCC comforts like ventilated front seats and a power-operated tailgate with a kick sensor. It upgrades the cabin with leather upholstery and a premium 8-inch infotainment system featuring navigation and a 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor. Most importantly, the VXR comes standard with the rear differential lock and 18-inch alloy wheels that are often absent on base configurations.

Fortuner vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Mitsubishi Montero Sport, the Fortuner offers a much larger 80-liter fuel tank, providing superior range for long desert highway hauls. While the Ford Everest focuses on road manners, the Fortuner’s rugged body-on-frame construction and Toyota's massive regional service footprint give it a clear advantage in durability and ease of maintenance. It leads the segment in long-term value retention, often depreciating at half the rate of its European or American competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 4.0L V6 typically averages around 10.7L/100km, which is efficient for a high-displacement SUV during long-distance cruising between emirates. Service intervals are every 10,000 km, and with one of the most extensive authorized networks in the world, you are never more than a short drive from a specialized Toyota technician in the UAE or KSA. The Fortuner VXR historically retains nearly 85-90% of its value after three years in the GCC market, making its total cost of ownership incredibly low.

Performance & Capability

The 4.0L V6 engine delivers a verified 235 hp and 376 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h time of approximately 9 seconds—a vital metric for merging onto fast-moving GCC highways. Its true strength lies off-road, where the part-time 4WD system and low-range gearing allow it to navigate soft sand and rocky wadis with ease. With a generous 279 mm of unladen ground clearance, it comfortably clears terrain that would halt most road-biased crossovers.

Comfort & Cabin

Designed for the extreme GCC climate, the VXR features a high-output dual-zone AC system with dedicated vents for all three rows to ensure every passenger stays cool in 45°C heat. The seven-seat layout is highly versatile, featuring a third row that can be folded away to accommodate large shopping trips or camping gear. Premium touches like the leather-trimmed steering wheel and acoustic glass provide a quiet, refined environment for daily commuting through city traffic.

Safety

The Fortuner VXR comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including seven airbags, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) which is essential for maintaining grip on loose sand. The 360-degree camera and front/rear parking sensors are invaluable for navigating tight mall parking spaces in Dubai or Riyadh. Standard cruise control and a tire pressure monitoring system provide added peace of mind during long-distance cross-border drives.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who needs a bulletproof daily driver that can handle a Friday desert trip and hold its value like cash, this low-mileage VXR is the definitive choice.
