Summary

This 2023 Toyota Granvia Premium offers a high-specification travel experience with the most desirable 6-seater configuration, featuring executive captain's chairs. While the mileage reflects active use typical for a GCC corporate or large family vehicle, its black exterior remains the most sought-after color for resale in the local market. The 3.5L V6 provides smooth, reliable power for long-distance highway cruises between emirates, outperforming four-cylinder rivals in refinement. For a GCC buyer, this model represents the best balance of Toyota's legendary durability and first-class cabin comfort. It stands as a reliable, high-status alternative to standard minivans, backed by an unmatched service network across the region.

This Car vs Other 2023 Toyota Granvias

With 111,000 km, this vehicle has seen slightly higher annual usage than the GCC average of 25,000 km, yet it remains mechanically robust due to its heavy-duty HiAce-based architecture. The black exterior is a significant advantage in the UAE and Saudi markets, consistently commanding higher resale demand compared to lighter shades. As a Premium trim, it avoids the basic finishes found on entry-level units, ensuring a much stronger value retention over time.

PREMIUM vs Lower Trims

The Premium trim is the definitive executive choice, adding essential luxury features such as quilted leather upholstery and power-adjustable ottoman captain's chairs with leg rests. Unlike the standard SE trim, it includes a 360-degree panoramic view monitor and the full Toyota Safety Sense suite, including adaptive cruise control. The cabin is further elevated with wood-grain trim and premium ambient lighting that isn't available on lower-tier configurations.

Granvia vs Segment Rivals

The Granvia leads the Kia Carnival and Honda Odyssey in sheer cabin volume and passenger shoulder room, thanks to its taller van-based profile. Its rear-wheel-drive layout and V6 powertrain offer superior durability for heavy loads compared to the front-wheel-drive competitors. While rivals focus on car-like handling, the Granvia prioritizes a 'luxury lounge' experience with significantly more luggage space behind the third row.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.5L V6 typically averages around 12.0 L/100km in GCC highway conditions, rising in stop-start city traffic. Maintenance is exceptionally convenient, with Al Futtaim and other major GCC distributors providing extensive authorized service centers and readily available spare parts. Toyota MPVs generally retain about 60-65% of their value after three years in the local market, benefiting from high demand in the secondary hospitality and corporate sectors.

Performance & Capability

The 277 hp V6 engine delivers effortless acceleration, reaching 0-100 km/h in approximately 9.0 seconds, which is impressive for a vehicle of this size. Its rear-wheel-drive configuration ensures stability when fully loaded with six passengers and luggage, providing a planted feel on fast-moving highways. The 6-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smoothness, ensuring that gear changes are barely perceptible to rear-seat passengers during long-distance travel.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is designed for first-class comfort, featuring four individual captain’s chairs in the rear that include electronic recline and ottoman footrests. The dual-zone climate control system is engineered for the extreme Gulf heat, with dedicated ceiling-mounted vents for every passenger to ensure rapid cooling. Acoustic glass and extensive insulation keep the cabin remarkably quiet, shielding occupants from road and wind noise during high-speed cruising.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive on this Premium trim, which includes 9 airbags and a suite of active driver aids. GCC drivers will particularly benefit from the Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert when navigating busy multi-lane highways. The Pre-Collision System and Lane Departure Alert provide an extra layer of security, while the 360-degree camera makes parking this large vehicle effortless in tight urban spaces.

The bottom line

Perfect for large families or executive transport, this Granvia Premium offers a first-class cabin experience backed by Toyota's unrivaled regional reliability.
