Summary

This 2023 Toyota Rush EX is a standout family workhorse, offering a rare combination of seven-seat practicality and high ground clearance for a compact footprint. With 47,000 km, its mileage is significantly lower than the GCC annual average, suggesting a well-preserved mechanical life. The white exterior is the gold standard for resale in the region, reflecting heat efficiently and maintaining high demand in the used market. For buyers who need Toyota's legendary reliability without the footprint of a full-size SUV, the Rush EX delivers exceptional value with its upgraded tech suite.

This Car vs Other 2023 Toyota Rushs

At 47,000 km, this Rush has been driven roughly 23,000 km per year, which is well within the typical GCC average for a family SUV. Its white exterior ensures it remains the most liquid asset in the secondary market, avoiding the depreciation hits often seen with less popular shades in the Emirates. The vehicle represents a balanced entry point for those seeking a modern, low-wear vehicle still within its prime mechanical window.

EX vs Lower Trims

The EX trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the base GX, most notably replacing the standard head unit with an 8-inch touchscreen interface featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Safety is bolstered by the inclusion of a blind spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert, features often omitted in the sub-compact segment. Additionally, the EX adds a wireless charging pad and upgraded seat upholstery, making it the preferred choice for GCC highway commutes.

Rush vs Segment Rivals

The Rush leads the Mitsubishi Xpander and Suzuki Ertiga by utilizing a rear-wheel-drive platform and a 220 mm ground clearance, allowing it to handle rougher gravel tracks and high speed-bumps with more composure. While rivals often feel like lowered MPVs, the Rush maintains a genuine SUV stance and a robust 5-link rear suspension. Its tighter 5.2m turning circle also makes it more maneuverable in crowded Riyadh or Dubai parking structures than larger 7-seaters.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel efficiency is a major strength, with official figures of 16.3 km/L, though real-world GCC city driving typically yields around 12-14 km/L depending on AC usage. Service intervals are set at 10,000 km, supported by the most extensive authorized service network in the GCC, ensuring easy maintenance from Muscat to Jeddah. Toyota's reputation for durability means the Rush experiences some of the lowest annual depreciation rates in its class, typically retaining significant value even after five years.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 1.5L four-cylinder engine producing 103 hp, the Rush is tuned for urban efficiency and steady highway cruising rather than raw speed. Its rear-wheel-drive layout provides better traction when fully loaded with seven passengers compared to front-wheel-drive competitors. The 220 mm ground clearance is a genuine advantage during the rainy season or when navigating unpaved weekend getaway spots, providing peace of mind that typical sedans cannot offer.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for GCC family logistics, featuring a flexible 7-seat layout where the second and third rows can be folded to provide up to 609 litres of cargo space. A powerful automatic climate control system with dedicated rear vents ensures all three rows stay cool during peak summer months. The EX trim's leather-trimmed steering wheel and improved interior materials provide a more premium feel during long inter-emirate drives.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive for the 2023 model year, featuring six airbags and a suite of active electronics including Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC). The EX trim specifically adds Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, providing essential assistance on fast-moving GCC highways. Standard ISOFIX points in the second row make it a secure choice for families with young children.

The bottom line

This Rush EX is the ideal choice for a GCC family seeking a low-mileage, tech-upgraded SUV that guarantees the highest possible resale value and lowest running costs.
