Toyota Rush EX

• 220 mm ground clearance
• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This 2023 Toyota Rush EX is a versatile 7-seater that perfectly balances city agility with the ruggedness needed for regional adventures. As a GCC-spec model finished in high-demand white, it offers excellent resale potential and peace of mind for local ownership. The compact footprint makes it remarkably easy to park in crowded urban areas, yet its high ground clearance and rear-wheel drive setup provide a sturdier feel than typical front-wheel drive crossovers. For family-focused buyers in the Gulf, the combination of Toyota's legendary reliability and a cooling system built for 50°C summers makes this a highly practical choice. It stands out as one of the few vehicles in its segment to offer three rows of seating without the bulky dimensions of a full-sized SUV.

This Car vs Other 2023 Toyota Rushs

With 68,000 km on the clock, this Rush sits slightly above the average annual mileage for its age in the GCC, reflecting its role as a dependable daily commuter. However, the white exterior is the most preferred color in the local market, ensuring it retains its value better than darker alternatives. Being a 2023 model, it benefits from the latest generation's styling and safety improvements before the model's planned transition in some markets.

EX vs Lower Trims

The EX trim serves as the primary entry point for the Rush in the UAE, providing essential features that local buyers prioritize. It comes standard with a powerful dual-zone air conditioning system including rear cooling vents, which is a critical upgrade for summer comfort. While it maintains a focus on value, it includes key safety features and the full 7-seat configuration found in the higher GX trim.

Rush vs Segment Rivals

The Toyota Rush competes against the Nissan Kicks and Mitsubishi Xpander, standing out primarily due to its rear-wheel-drive architecture and body-on-frame-style durability. While rivals often use CVT transmissions, the Rush utilizes a traditional 4-speed automatic that many GCC buyers find more robust for long-term use. Its 220 mm ground clearance is also among the highest in the compact crossover class, offering better protection against high speed breakers and uneven desert-side roads.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel consumption is efficient for a 7-seater, averaging approximately 7.7 L/100km in mixed GCC driving conditions. Toyota’s massive presence in the region means parts are available in every emirate and across borders, keeping maintenance costs predictably low. Resale value for the Rush remains strong, typically depreciating only 15-18% in its first year, significantly outperforming non-Japanese competitors in the local used market.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5-litre engine produces 103 hp, optimized for fuel efficiency and reliable city performance rather than raw speed. Its rear-wheel-drive layout provides a 5.2-meter turning radius, making it exceptionally maneuverable in tight Dubai or Riyadh traffic. With a maximum ground clearance of 220 mm, it handles gravel paths and sand-drifted roads with a level of confidence usually reserved for much larger SUVs.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for family logistics, featuring a 2-3-2 seating layout where the second and third rows can be folded to maximize cargo space. For the GCC climate, the dedicated rear A/C vents ensure that even passengers in the very back stay cool during peak summer. The interior is finished in durable fabric designed to withstand high heat and heavy family use, while the 7-inch infotainment system keeps the driver connected.

Safety

Standard safety for this trim includes six airbags, covering the driver, passenger, and side curtains to protect all three rows. It is equipped with Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Hill-Start Assist (HAC), which are particularly useful when navigating the hilly terrain of the Northern Emirates. Anti-lock brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) come standard, ensuring stable stopping power on both paved highways and sandy surfaces.

The bottom line

This Toyota Rush is an ideal opportunity for a growing family or a savvy commuter looking for maximum utility and Toyota's bulletproof reliability in a modern, well-maintained package.
