Summary

This 2024 BMW M4 COMPETITION M XDRIVE Convertible represents a rare opportunity to own a near-new performance icon with exceptionally low mileage for the GCC market. While many performance cars in the region accumulate high kilometers on the long highways between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, this example has been kept for light, enthusiast use. The Grey exterior is a highly sought-after shade in the UAE, offering a sophisticated look that holds resale value far better than bolder, niche colors. As a Competition model with xDrive, it provides the perfect balance of aggressive open-top thrills and the year-round stability required for fast-moving Gulf traffic. For a serious buyer, the combination of its current condition and the specific high-performance trim makes it a standout choice against older or higher-mileage alternatives. The most important consideration for a GCC buyer here is the balance of a nearly factory-fresh engine with the top-tier technical specifications of the current generation.

This Car vs Other 2024 M4s

In the GCC used market, 2024 models often show significantly higher usage than this example, which sits well below the average annual mileage of 20,000 km typical for the region. Finding a current-year M4 with such low usage provides the next owner with a vehicle that still feels and smells brand new, with minimal wear on the cooling systems and interior leather. The Grey exterior is one of the most resilient colors for the local climate, hiding fine desert dust better than black while maintaining a premium aesthetic that is very easy to trade or sell later. Most 2024 units currently available have either been driven hard or were ordered in less desirable configurations, making this specific car a strategic buy. By choosing a car with this mileage profile, you are essentially securing a vehicle that has just finished its break-in period and is ready for the peak driving season. This is an ideal bridge for a buyer who wants the latest technology without the immediate steep depreciation of a zero-kilometer showroom car.

COMPETITION M XDRIVE vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the COMPETITION M XDRIVE trim is a transformative choice for a GCC driver, as it adds significant hardware that the standard rear-wheel-drive M4 lacks. This trim brings an upgraded power output to 500 hp and, crucially, the xDrive all-wheel-drive system which provides immense confidence during the rare but hazardous rain showers or on sandy coastal roads. Inside, this trim typically includes the premium Harman Kardon surround sound system and the upgraded M-Sport seats which offer superior support and cooling—a necessity for the hot summer months. You also benefit from more aggressive exterior carbon fiber detailing and larger staggered wheels that are highly prized in the local car culture. Lower trims often lack the advanced M-Differential settings that allow the driver to customize the car's behavior for the track or the street. Choosing the Competition trim ensures you have the highest-spec version available, which remains the most liquid asset in the secondary market.

M4 vs Segment Rivals

The BMW M4 COMPETITION M XDRIVE faces off against the Mercedes-AMG C63 and the Audi RS5, but it holds a distinct advantage in the GCC for its sheer driver engagement and cooling efficiency. While rivals are moving toward smaller engines or hybrid setups, the 3.0L straight-six in this M4 is a proven powerhouse that handles the extreme heat of the Gulf remarkably well without losing performance. The BMW iDrive system is widely considered the most intuitive for navigating the fast-growing road networks of cities like Riyadh and Dubai compared to its competitors. It offers more genuine sports car DNA than the Audi, while feeling more agile and modern than the current Mercedes-AMG offerings. Furthermore, the M4's convertible mechanism is exceptionally well-insulated, keeping the cabin significantly cooler than many other soft-tops when the sun is at its peak. For the GCC buyer who wants a car that can transition from a professional commuter to a weekend coastal cruiser, the M4 offers the most versatile package.

Running Costs & Resale

Running a high-performance BMW in the GCC is a manageable experience thanks to the extensive network of authorized service centers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. Real-world fuel consumption for this 3.0L engine typically averages around 10.5 L/100km on long highway stretches, though city driving in heavy traffic will see that figure rise. It is essential to use high-octane Super 98 fuel to maintain the engine's health and performance levels in the local heat. Service intervals are typically every 12,000 to 15,000 km, meaning this car is just approaching its first major check-up. In terms of resale, the M4 is a blue-chip vehicle in the UAE; while it may see a 15% depreciation in its first two years, it stabilizes much better than non-M BMW models. Because this is a Korean spec vehicle, it is important to note that while the mechanical components are identical to GCC specs, the infotainment and warranty should be verified for local compatibility. Parts availability is excellent, with major hubs in Dubai and Riyadh ensuring that any required maintenance is quick and efficient.

Performance & Capability

The headline figure for this machine is its 0–100 km/h time of just 3.7 seconds, placing it in the upper echelon of modern performance cars. This explosive acceleration is managed by an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission that provides lightning-fast shifts, perfect for merging onto the E11 highway or enjoying a spirited drive through the mountains of Jebel Hafeet. The 500 hp output is delivered with a linear precision that makes it surprisingly easy to drive in stop-start city traffic while remaining a beast when called upon. The M xDrive system allows you to toggle between 4WD, 4WD Sport, and a pure 2WD mode for those who want a more traditional rear-wheel-drive experience. Despite being a convertible, the chassis is incredibly stiff, ensuring there is no 'scuttle shake' even on uneven surfaces. The adjustable suspension allows the driver to soften the ride for long-distance cruising across the emirates or stiffen it for track-day precision. It is a car designed for those who demand supercar performance without sacrificing the ability to use the car every single day.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the M4 is a four-seat sanctuary that balances high-tech features with luxury materials. The M-Sport seats are the centerpiece, featuring illuminated logos and, most importantly for the GCC, multi-stage ventilation that keeps occupants cool even when the top is down. The air conditioning system in the current G82/G83 generation is exceptionally powerful, designed to reach cabin temperature parity in minutes after being parked in the sun. The 2024 model year features the latest BMW Curved Display, which integrates the instrument cluster and infotainment into one seamless, high-resolution screen. Sound insulation is impressive for a convertible; with the top up, the cabin remains quiet enough for executive calls on the move. The rear seats are suitable for children or shorter adults, making it a viable option for small families or occasional group outings. Every touchpoint is finished in premium leather or carbon fiber, reminding you of the car's 500 hp pedigree every time you get behind the wheel.

Safety

Safety is paramount in a car with this much power, and the 2024 M4 is equipped with BMW's most advanced Driver Assistance Professional suite as standard. This includes Active Blind Spot Detection, which is invaluable on the six-lane highways of the GCC where cars can approach quickly from any side. The Lane Departure Warning and Frontal Collision Warning with City Collision Mitigation provide an extra layer of security during the dense morning commutes. For long drives between cities, the Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go takes the fatigue out of the journey by maintaining distance even in heavy traffic. The xDrive system itself acts as a massive safety feature, providing mechanical grip that a rear-wheel-drive car simply cannot match in emergency maneuvers. Additionally, the rollover protection system and high-strength steel reinforcements in the A-pillars ensure that convertible occupants are as well-protected as they would be in a coupe.

The bottom line

This M4 is the perfect match for a UAE professional who wants a nearly-new, high-spec convertible that can handle the daily commute and weekend escapes with equal brilliance. Given its exceptionally low mileage and the high desirability of the Competition trim, this listing represents a significant value retention opportunity for a savvy local buyer.
