Summary

This 2023 BMW M4 Competition M xDrive Convertible stands out as a highly capable performance machine that balances open-top freedom with relentless all-wheel-drive grip. Its Purple exterior is a rare and striking choice that typically commands a premium in the GCC's vibrant used car market. With mileage that reflects active use across highway-heavy regions, it remains a mechanically sound and modern choice for those seeking a current-generation G83 platform. The Competition trim ensures you have the highest power output available for this model year, making it a standout for enthusiasts who prioritize acceleration. For any buyer in the GCC, this car’s sophisticated M xDrive system is the key ownership advantage, providing stability on both high-speed coastal roads and occasionally sandy surfaces.

This Car vs Other 2023 M4s

While many 2023 M4s in the region are found in high-volume white or black, this Purple example offers a unique resale edge for buyers looking to stand out. Its mileage is consistent with average annual usage in the GCC, where long-distance commutes between cities are common. As an American spec vehicle, it offers the same mechanical DNA as local models but requires confirmation regarding the remainder of any third-party service contracts.

COMPETITION M XDRIVE vs Lower Trims

The Competition M xDrive is the definitive choice, adding 30 hp and 100 Nm of torque over the standard manual M4. Crucially for the UAE market, this trim includes the 8-speed M Steptronic transmission and the rear-biased xDrive system, which are unavailable on the base model. It also steps up to a staggered 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheel setup and features the extended Shadowline exterior trim for a more aggressive presence.

M4 vs Segment Rivals

The M4 Competition xDrive leads rivals like the Mercedes-AMG C63 and Audi RS5 with its highly sophisticated M-specific all-wheel-drive system that can be switched to a pure rear-wheel-drive mode. Its soft-top design is significantly lighter than the retractable hard-tops of the past, improving center of gravity for better handling on twisty roads. The S58 engine in this BMW is widely regarded in the GCC for its superior tuning potential and heat management compared to its peers.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 10.4 L/100km on a combined cycle, though city driving in heavy Dubai or Riyadh traffic will see this increase. Service intervals are typically managed by BMW’s Condition Based Service system, usually falling every 12,000 to 15,000 km, with a major drivetrain inspection recommended at the 80,000 km mark. Authorized BMW service centers are extensively available across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts and expert technicians are always accessible.

Performance & Capability

With a verified 0–100 km/h time of just 3.7 seconds, this convertible delivers supercar-level acceleration. The M xDrive system ensures that all 503 hp is translated into forward motion even on less-than-ideal surfaces, making it incredibly composed during high-speed highway overtaking. The adaptive M suspension allows you to stiffen the chassis for track-like precision or soften it for comfortable cruising between Emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features a driver-centric digital cockpit with a 14.9-inch display and a premium 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system as standard. For the GCC climate, the powerful multi-zone climate control is designed to maintain cabin temperature even with the top down in milder months. The four-seat configuration provides enough room for weekend trips, while the neck-warmer air collars often found in this trim enhance open-air driving comfort during winter evenings.

Safety

Safety is managed by a comprehensive suite including Front Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Blind Spot Detection, which are essential for navigating fast-moving multi-lane highways. The M-specific stability control offers multiple stages of intervention, allowing the driver to tailor safety nets to their skill level. Additionally, the rollover protection system is specifically engineered to deploy in milliseconds if the vehicle's sensors detect an imminent tip.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast who wants the peak of BMW's current convertible performance in a unique color, this M4 Competition xDrive is a rare find in the local market.
