Summary

This 2024 BMW M440i xDrive offers a perfect balance between everyday luxury and track-ready performance, powered by the acclaimed B58 engine. With 58,000 km, this vehicle has been driven consistently across the UAE's highways, ensuring the mechanical components have reached optimal operating temperatures regularly. The GCC specification is a significant advantage for local buyers, guaranteeing a cooling system and air conditioning unit built to handle extreme summer heat. Its Grey exterior is a resilient and highly sought-after shade in the regional market, promising excellent resale stability. This coupe stands out for its all-weather xDrive grip, making it as confident in a sudden rainstorm as it is on a fast-paced commute between Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2024 M440is

With 58,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle’s mileage is slightly above the typical annual average for a one-year-old car, suggesting it has been a reliable long-distance companion. In the GCC market, highway mileage is often preferred over city-stop-start wear, as it results in less strain on the brakes and transmission. The Grey metallic paint is a neutral, high-demand color in the UAE, providing a distinct advantage for future resale compared to more niche shades.

XDRIVE vs Lower Trims

Choosing the M440i xDrive over the 430i adds the powerhouse 3.0L six-cylinder engine and BMW’s intelligent all-wheel-drive system for superior traction. This trim specifically includes M Sport brakes, an M Sport differential, and Variable Sport Steering as standard, features that are often costly options on lower models. Inside, the M440i typically gains the premium Harman Kardon audio system and Sensatec-wrapped dashboard, providing a significantly more upscale cabin environment.

M440i vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Audi S5 and Mercedes-AMG C43, the BMW leads with its intuitive iDrive 8.5 interface and the near-instant response of its 48V mild-hybrid system. The M440i offers a more balanced ride quality that excels on long GCC highway stretches while maintaining a larger 59-litre fuel tank for extended range. Drivers will find the BMW’s ergonomics and cooling performance specifically well-suited for the regional climate compared to its European competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The M440i xDrive averages approximately 8.5 L/100km on combined cycles, though GCC city traffic will see this rise during peak summer months due to heavy AC load. BMW’s authorized service network is extensive across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring specialized care is always within reach. The M440i holds its value remarkably well in the GCC, typically seeing 12-15% annual depreciation, which is superior to many high-output rivals in the luxury coupe segment.

Performance & Capability

The sprint to 100 km/h is dispatched in just 4.5 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power on fast-moving UAE motorways. The xDrive system intelligently shifts torque to the wheels with the most grip, ensuring stability during high-speed cornering or slippery conditions. Multiple drive modes, including Sport and Comfort, allow you to transform the car from a refined cruiser into an aggressive performer at the touch of a button.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a tech-focused sanctuary featuring the BMW Curved Display and M-specific sport seats that offer excellent support for long-distance drives. Standard multi-zone climate control ensures all four passengers remain cool even when external temperatures exceed 45°C. High-quality acoustic glazing helps isolate the interior from road noise, making the 16-speaker Harman Kardon system sound even more immersive during cross-country trips.

Safety

This M440i comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features including Frontal Collision Warning, Active Blind Spot Detection, and Lane Departure Warning. The xDrive system acts as a proactive safety layer, maintaining composure on sand-dusted roads or during heavy rain. Adaptive LED headlights with automatic high beams provide exceptional visibility for night driving on unlit desert highways.

The bottom line

This M440i xDrive is an ideal choice for the executive enthusiast who needs a daily driver that can handle the UAE heat without sacrificing elite performance. Its GCC status and popular color profile make it a secure investment for a buyer looking for a modern, high-spec BMW.
