• Top speed of 250 km/h

Summary

This 2024 model represents the refined LCI facelift, offering the sophisticated BMW Curved Display and an upgraded mild-hybrid powertrain that balances efficiency with performance. As a Pure Excellence trim, it swaps aggressive M-sport styling for elegant chrome accents and a comfort-oriented suspension setup ideal for long-distance GCC touring. The Blue exterior is a sought-after choice in the UAE, providing a premium alternative to standard white or black while maintaining strong resale appeal. With its versatile seven-seat layout and intelligent all-wheel drive, this SUV is perfectly suited for large families navigating the fast-paced highways of the Emirates. The mileage is slightly above the regional annual average, but typical for a highway-driven executive cruiser that has been maintained to BMW’s high standards.

This Car vs Other 2024 X7s

While most X7s in the market are opted in the M Sport package, this Pure Excellence edition focuses on luxury refinement and a softer ride quality. The mileage is consistent with active highway use between Emirates, reflecting a car that has been regularly exercised rather than sitting idle in the heat. Choosing a GCC-spec 2024 model ensures the latest iDrive 8.5 software and full regional warranty support, which is a major advantage over older pre-facelift versions.

xDrive40i Pure Excellence vs Lower Trims

The Pure Excellence trim elevates the X7 with high-gloss chrome exterior elements and 21-inch alloy wheels that emphasize its status as a flagship. Inside, it adds standard multi-contour ventilated seats and the expanded BMW Curved Display, which are often costly options on base models. This specific trim is designed for the buyer who prioritizes cabin quietness and a plush suspension over a stiff, sport-focused setup.

X7 vs Segment Rivals

The BMW X7 stands out against the Mercedes-Benz GLS and Range Rover by offering a more driver-centric experience without sacrificing the third-row utility that families require. It features a larger curved infotainment interface than the GLS and offers a more efficient mild-hybrid six-cylinder engine than many rivals in the full-size luxury segment. Its thermal management system is widely regarded as one of the best for maintaining consistent cabin cooling during peak GCC summer temperatures.

Running Costs & Resale

The xDrive40i returns a combined fuel consumption of approximately 10.5 L/100km, making it significantly more efficient for daily Dubai or Riyadh commutes than the V8 alternatives. BMW's authorized service network is extensive across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts and expert technicians are always accessible. As a flagship GCC-spec SUV, it typically retains about 55% of its value after three years, outperforming many smaller European luxury crossovers in the secondary market.

Performance & Capability

Powered by the celebrated B58 3.0-litre inline-six, the X7 delivers 380 hp and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h with effortless stability. The standard air suspension provides adjustable ride height, allowing for extra ground clearance when navigating sandy patches or steep driveways. The xDrive all-wheel-drive system provides exceptional traction on wet coastal roads and during high-speed highway lane changes, ensuring family safety in all conditions.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin features a genuine seven-seat configuration with dedicated climate zones and cooling vents for every row, essential for the Middle Eastern climate. Acoustic glazing and premium insulation ensure the interior remains a quiet sanctuary even at high cruising speeds on the E11. Technology highlights include the 14.9-inch central touch display and a standard Head-up Display that helps keep eyes on the road during long desert drives.

Safety

This X7 is equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite including Active Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, and Frontal Collision Warning with City Collision Mitigation. The standard 360° Surround View camera system makes parking this large SUV in tight city malls effortless. Additionally, the adaptive cruise control is a vital feature for reducing driver fatigue during long-distance travel across the GCC.

The bottom line

This 2024 X7 is the ideal choice for a luxury-minded family seeking the latest BMW technology and seven-seat practicality with the peace of mind provided by GCC regional specifications.
