Summary

This 2024 Ford Territory Trend offers a smart balance of modern technology and family-oriented space in the popular Brown metallic finish, a practical and resilient choice for the GCC climate. With just over 56,000 km, this vehicle has been utilized slightly more than the regional average, yet it remains mechanically young and well-suited for the long highway commutes typical between the Emirates. As a Trend trim, it provides a significant technology boost over the base model, making it a competitive alternative to established Japanese crossovers. For a buyer seeking an American-branded SUV with a fresh, contemporary interior and robust authorized service backing in the UAE, this Territory stands out as a high-value prospect.

This Car vs Other 2024 Ford Territorys

With 56,206 km on the odometer, this Territory has seen active use, sitting slightly above the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average for the GCC market. However, for a 2024 model, this highway-biased mileage suggests a vehicle that is well-settled and free from the early-stage teething issues sometimes found in low-mileage city cars. The Brown exterior is a highly sensible choice for the region, masking desert dust effectively and maintaining better heat rejection than darker tones, which supports its long-term resale appeal.

TREND vs Lower Trims

The Trend trim is the sweet spot of the Territory lineup, adding essential GCC comfort and safety features not found on the base Ambiente. It introduces a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen and a more advanced digital cluster that transforms the cabin's feel. Most importantly for local drivers, the Trend typically includes blind-spot monitoring and a rear-view camera system, providing vital assistance during fast-paced highway lane changes and urban parking.

Territory vs Segment Rivals

The Ford Territory competes directly with the Toyota RAV4 and Nissan X-Trail, leading both in terms of rear legroom and pure infotainment screen real estate. While the Japanese rivals focus on traditional layouts, the Territory offers a more futuristic, minimalist cabin design that appeals to tech-forward families. Its 1.8L EcoBoost engine also provides higher torque than the base naturally aspirated engines found in several segment competitors, aiding in confident highway overtaking.

Running Costs & Resale

The 1.8L EcoBoost engine is designed for efficiency, delivering approximately 7.4 to 8.0 L/100km on the combined cycle, making it an economical choice for both stop-start city traffic in Riyadh or Dubai and long-distance cruises. Ford has a well-established authorized service network across the UAE (Al Tayer/Premier Motors) and the wider GCC, ensuring that parts and expert maintenance are always accessible. While it depreciates slightly faster than a Toyota, the Territory holds its value well in the secondary market due to its high demand as a modern family crossover.

Performance & Capability

The 1.8L turbocharged engine produces a healthy 190 hp and 320 Nm of torque, which is plenty for navigating the elevation changes of the Northern Emirates or merging onto the E11. Power is delivered through a smooth 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that is optimized for efficiency rather than aggressive shifts. With a ground clearance of approximately 190mm, it easily handles high curbs and gravel tracks leading to weekend farm retreats, though it remains a strictly road-biased front-wheel-drive SUV.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is remarkably spacious for a compact SUV, specifically designed with a flat rear floor to allow three adults to sit comfortably in the back. Dual-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents ensures the cabin remains chilled even during the peak of the GCC summer. The 448-litre boot is deep and wide, providing ample space for the weekly family grocery run or luggage for a cross-border road trip to Oman.

Safety

The 2024 Territory Trend comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite, including 6 airbags and electronic stability control, which is essential for maintaining traction on sandy road shoulders. This trim also features a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and blind-spot sensors, providing extra peace of mind during long desert drives. The 360-degree camera and rear parking sensors make navigating tight mall parking spots effortless.

The bottom line

Perfect for the tech-savvy family or the professional commuter, this GCC-spec Territory Trend offers a premium-feeling interior and modern safety at a significantly lower entry point than its Japanese rivals.
