Summary

This 2024 Ford Territory Trend offers a refined balance of American brand heritage and modern crossover efficiency, making it a standout in the GCC compact SUV market. With its current mileage reflecting active use since its recent launch, it presents a significant savings opportunity compared to a showroom-fresh unit while remaining under the bulk of its initial warranty period. The 1.8L EcoBoost powertrain is specifically calibrated for the region, providing the torque needed for confident highway overtaking across the Emirates. Its black exterior is a perennial favorite for resale in the Gulf, ensuring the car remains desirable when it comes time to upgrade. For a GCC buyer, this model represents one of the most spacious and tech-forward interiors available in its price bracket.

This Car vs Other 2024 Ford Territorys

At 58,558 km, this Territory has been driven more than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average for the UAE, likely reflecting long-distance commutes between emirates. This higher-than-average mileage is factored into the value proposition, allowing buyers to secure a 2024 model year vehicle at a more accessible price point. The black finish is a high-demand resale color in the GCC, providing a distinct advantage in future marketability compared to bolder, niche colors.

TREND vs Lower Trims

The Trend trim is the 'sweet spot' for GCC buyers, upgrading the base Ambiente with essential regional comforts like a panoramic sunroof and premium vinyl 'pseudo-leather' upholstery that is easier to maintain in dusty conditions. It also adds a high-definition rearview camera and dual-zone automatic climate control, a critical feature for maintaining passenger comfort during peak Gulf summers. These additions significantly improve the cabin experience and hold their value better at trade-in than base-spec models.

Ford Territory vs Segment Rivals

The Territory competes directly with the Nissan X-Trail and Hyundai Tucson, leading the segment in wheelbase length which translates to superior rear legroom for families. Its 1.8L turbocharged engine delivers more standard torque (320 Nm) than many naturally aspirated rivals, making it feel more responsive on fast-moving highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. Furthermore, the standard 12-inch infotainment screen is one of the largest and most intuitive interfaces in the compact SUV class.

Running Costs & Resale

The 1.8L EcoBoost engine is remarkably efficient for its size, with a manufacturer rating of 15.9 km/L that helps manage costs during long cross-country drives. Being a GCC-spec Ford, it benefits from an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts and expert maintenance are always accessible. While American-branded crossovers typically see a 15-20% annual depreciation, the Territory's massive popularity in the region has helped it maintain a more stable price floor than older Ford SUV models.

Performance & Capability

With 190 hp on tap, the Territory provides smooth and predictable power delivery via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. This powertrain is designed for on-road refinement and effortless cruising at 120 km/h, though it offers selectable drive modes to optimize traction on rain-slicked roads or light gravel. Its front-wheel-drive configuration focuses on fuel efficiency and urban maneuverability, making it an ideal companion for city commutes and weekend road trips between major GCC cities.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the heat, featuring a powerful air conditioning system with dedicated rear vents to ensure all five passengers stay cool. High-quality acoustic glass helps isolate the interior from road noise, creating a quiet sanctuary for long drives. The Trend trim includes the upgraded 12-inch center stack and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, bringing a high-tech feel to the driver-centric cockpit. Ample storage bins and a flat floor in the rear make it exceptionally practical for family logistics.

Safety

Safety is a priority with the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite, including Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross-Traffic Alert, which is invaluable for the multi-lane highway environment of the GCC. Standard safety features include six airbags, electronic stability control, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The high-definition rearview camera and rear parking sensors make navigating tight mall parking spaces effortless.

The bottom line

This 2024 Territory Trend is the perfect match for a value-conscious professional or small family who wants a near-new SUV experience with class-leading tech and space without the new-car price tag.
