Summary

This 2024 Ford Territory Trend represents a sharp opportunity for GCC families, offering modern American design language with a highly efficient EcoBoost powertrain that excels in regional highway conditions. Its black exterior is a perennial favorite for resale in the UAE market, and with mileage under 60,000 km, it sits well within the average usage band for a vehicle of this age. The Trend trim strikes a perfect balance between technology and value, featuring the same imposing road presence as higher specs. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it comes fully optimized for local cooling requirements and benefits from the extensive regional Ford service infrastructure. For those seeking a spacious five-seater that feels premium without the luxury tax, this Territory is a standout choice.

This Car vs Other 2024 Ford Territorys

With 57,762 km on the clock, this Territory has been driven approximately 28,000 km per year, which aligns with the typical high-mileage highway commutes common in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The Panther Black exterior is a high-demand choice in the local used market, ensuring faster resale compared to niche colors. It remains mechanically current with no generational changes for the 2024 model year, offering a like-new experience.

TREND vs Lower Trims

The Trend trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience over the base Ambiente by adding a power-operated tailgate and automatic rain-sensing wipers, features that add daily convenience in the GCC. Inside, it swaps basic cloth for more durable vinyl upholstery and adds dual-zone automatic climate control to better manage extreme summer heat. You also benefit from a rear-view camera and LED fog lamps as standard equipment.

Territory vs Segment Rivals

The Territory leads rivals like the Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage in terms of sheer cabin width and rear legroom, making it one of the most spacious five-seaters in its class. Its 1.8L EcoBoost engine delivers 320 Nm of torque, providing more low-end pull for highway overtaking than the naturally aspirated units found in many Japanese competitors. Additionally, its 60-litre fuel tank provides a generous cruising range for cross-emirate trips.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel economy averages around 8.0 L/100km on the highway, though this can rise to 12.0 L/100km in heavy stop-start Dubai or Riyadh traffic. Maintenance is straightforward with a massive authorized service network provided by Al Tayer and Premier Motors in the UAE, with standard intervals every 10,000 km. The Territory has shown competitive value retention, typically depreciating at a rate of 15-20% in its first two years, which is strong for the mid-size SUV segment.

Performance & Capability

The 1.8-litre turbocharged engine produces 190 hp, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in approximately 8.5 seconds, which is brisk for a family crossover. Its 7-speed dual-clutch transmission is optimized for smooth shifts during long-distance cruises between cities. With 190 mm of ground clearance, it easily handles gravel tracks and weekend camping spots, though its front-wheel-drive layout is best suited for paved roads and light trails.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around a massive 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For the GCC climate, the Trend trim's dual-zone climate control includes dedicated rear vents to keep all five passengers cool during peak summer months. The boot offers a flat loading floor and expands from 448 litres to over 1,400 litres, providing ample room for airport runs or large grocery shops.

Safety

Standard safety features on the Trend include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System which is vital for high-temperature highway driving. It also features Blind Spot Monitoring and Hill Launch Assist to aid in both city navigation and inclined parking. These active systems provide a comprehensive safety net that often requires expensive packages on competing models.

The bottom line

Perfect for the young family or professional looking for a modern, tech-forward SUV with a GCC-proven service network and the most interior space in its price bracket.
