Summary

This 2024 GAC GS3 GE offers a compelling opportunity for GCC buyers seeking a nearly new crossover that balances modern tech with sensible running costs. Given its Vehicle Age of 2 years, the mileage is slightly above the regional average but reflects consistent highway use which is ideal for keeping the turbocharged engine and transmission at peak operating temperature. The GE trim provides the essential interior upgrades that regional buyers value, including leather-trimmed surfaces and enhanced connectivity. Red is a distinctive choice in a market dominated by white and silver, offering better visibility and a personality that helps with individual resale to younger professionals. For anyone navigating the daily commute between Emirates or across Saudi city centers, this GS3 stands out as a refined, budget-friendly alternative to more expensive Japanese rivals.

This Car vs Other 2024 GS3s

With 56,230 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven approximately 28,000 km per year, which is slightly higher than the typical GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km. However, in the context of the UAE and Saudi markets, this often indicates the car was used for longer highway commutes rather than harsh stop-start city idling. The vibrant Red exterior is a strong choice for those wanting to stand out from the common fleet of white crossovers, maintaining good aesthetic appeal in the used market.

GE vs Lower Trims

The GE trim is a significant step up from the base GS, adding features that are essential for the GCC climate and driving comfort. It typically introduces an 8-inch high-resolution touchscreen, a rearview camera with parking sensors, and more premium interior materials compared to the entry-level model. Buyers also benefit from cruise control and steering-mounted controls, making long desert highway drives far more relaxing.

GS3 vs Segment Rivals

The GS3 is most frequently cross-shopped with the MG ZS and Changan CS35 Plus. While rivals might offer different engine outputs, the GAC leads in cabin refinement and perceived material quality, providing a more European-inspired interior feel. Its 50-litre fuel tank is well-sized for the segment, offering a competitive cruising range for cross-border trips or long weekend drives.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 1.3L turbo engine sits at approximately 7.0 L/100km, offering an efficient balance for GCC traffic. Service intervals are generally every 10,000 km or 6 months, and GAC's authorized network is well-established across the UAE via Gargash and Saudi Arabia via Aljomaih. While Chinese brands typically see higher initial depreciation than Japanese marques, the GS3 has stabilized well, retaining strong value at the 2-year mark due to its modern tech suite.

Performance & Capability

The 1.3L turbocharged engine delivers 100 horsepower, optimized for smooth power delivery during city overtaking and steady highway cruising. While it is a road-focused front-wheel-drive crossover, its 180mm ground clearance is ample for navigating speed bumps and unpaved parking areas common in developing suburban districts. The automatic transmission is tuned for efficiency, ensuring a quiet cabin environment at 120 km/h.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for 5 passengers, featuring rear air conditioning vents which are a non-negotiable requirement for the intense GCC summer heat. The GE trim's interior uses a mix of soft-touch materials and durable synthetics designed to resist UV wear. Technology highlights include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, allowing for seamless navigation through Google Maps or Waze on the central display.

Safety

Standard safety for the GE trim includes front airbags, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, and a Bosch-sourced Electronic Stability Program (ESP). It also features a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), which is vital for safe driving in high-temperature desert conditions. The inclusion of Hill-Start Hold Control and Hill Descent Control provides extra confidence when navigating the mountainous terrain of the Northern Emirates or the Asir region.

The bottom line

This GS3 is an ideal match for a first-time SUV buyer or a small family looking for a current-generation vehicle with a premium feel without the premium price tag. It represents a smart, tech-forward alternative to high-mileage older sedans in the same price bracket.
