Summary

This 2024 GAC GS3 GE is an ideal compact crossover for urban professionals or small families seeking modern tech and efficiency in the GCC. The GE trim balances essential features like a 360-degree camera and a sunroof with a 1.3L turbocharged engine that delivers responsive performance for city driving. Its mileage is perfectly aligned with regional annual averages, proving its reliability as a consistent daily driver. While rivals often offer larger displacements, this GS3 stands out with its fuel-efficient profile and premium interior materials. For a GCC buyer, this model represents a low-depreciation entry into the SUV market with the backing of an extensive regional service network.

This Car vs Other 2024 GS3s

With approximately 53,808 km, this vehicle's usage reflects the typical high-utilization profile of GCC highway commuting while remaining well within its primary service lifecycle. The vibrant Red exterior is a strong choice for the local market, offering a high-visibility alternative to monochrome traffic that historically maintains solid appeal in the secondary market.

GE vs Lower Trims

The GE trim upgrades the ownership experience over the base GS with critical equipment for the regional climate, including a standard sunroof and an upgraded 360-degree camera system for easier parking in tight urban spaces. It also features premium upholstery and enhanced infotainment connectivity, providing a more refined cabin environment for long-distance driving across the emirates.

GS3 vs Segment Rivals

The GS3 competes directly with the MG ZS and Chevrolet Groove, leading the group with a more tech-focused interior and standard safety aids like the surround-view camera. Its 1.3L turbo engine offers a more energetic torque delivery compared to the naturally aspirated units found in many entry-level crossovers, making it better suited for the high speeds of GCC highways.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages 7.5 L/100km, making it one of the most efficient petrol SUVs for stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. Authorized GAC service centers are widely available through major distributors like Gargash in the UAE and Aljomaih in Saudi Arabia, ensuring parts availability and consistent maintenance. The model shows a competitive depreciation rate of approximately 12-15% annually, holding its value well alongside more established Japanese rivals.

Performance & Capability

The 1.3L turbocharged engine produces 136 hp and 202 Nm of torque, providing plenty of power for confident overtaking on multi-lane highways. Its front-wheel-drive platform is tuned for road-biased comfort, offering a smooth ride over urban pavement and stability during long cross-country trips. With 50 litres of fuel capacity, it offers a substantial range that reduces the frequency of stops during inter-city travel.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for five passengers with a focus on GCC summer comfort, featuring a powerful air conditioning system with dedicated rear vents. The 370-litre boot expands significantly with 60/40 flat-folding rear seats, accommodating larger grocery runs or weekend travel gear. High-quality materials and an 8-inch touchscreen display ensure a modern feel during daily commutes.

Safety

This GE trim is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including ABS, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) to handle the region's varying road surfaces. The 360-degree camera provides essential visibility in crowded parking lots, while ISOFIX anchors and multiple airbags offer peace of mind for family use. These systems are standard on the GE, whereas some competitors only offer them as options.

The bottom line

For a buyer seeking a nearly-new SUV that balances bold style with predictable running costs, this GCC-spec GAC GS3 GE is a strategically sound choice that is ready for immediate regional use.
