Summary

This 2024 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy offers a high-specification family experience that rivals premium European SUVs for comfort and tech. With 58,000 km, its mileage reflects consistent use typical for the GCC’s long-distance driving culture and is well within expected wear for a modern V6 powertrain. The Calligraphy trim is the most sought-after version in the local market due to its upscale cabin and advanced safety features. Finished in Blue, it provides a distinctive alternative to the common neutral tones while maintaining broad appeal. For a GCC buyer, this model represents a perfect balance of reliability and high-end luxury for school runs and cross-emirate trips alike.

This Car vs Other 2024 Palisades

At 58,000 km, this Palisade has been driven slightly more than the global average but aligns perfectly with typical GCC annual use, where 20,000–25,000 km is common due to highway commutes. Its American specification provides a identical mechanical foundation to local models while often including specific tech features not found on base regional imports. The Blue exterior is a refreshing choice in a market dominated by white and silver, offering a unique look without compromising on the model's strong local resale reputation.

CALLIGRAPHY vs Lower Trims

The Calligraphy trim elevates the Palisade into the luxury segment, adding premium Nappa leather surfaces and a microfiber headliner that lower trims like the SEL or XRT lack. GCC drivers will particularly appreciate the Ergo-motion driver's seat designed to reduce fatigue on long desert drives, plus the 360-degree camera and Remote Smart Parking Assist. It also features exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels and a unique grille that provide a significantly more executive presence on the road.

Palisade vs Segment Rivals

The Palisade leads its closest rival, the Honda Pilot, by offering a more upscale cabin environment and a larger standard infotainment display. Against the Kia Telluride, it provides a slightly more performance-oriented feel with a confirmed 0-100 km/h time of 7.7 seconds, making highway overtaking smoother. Its third-row space and rear-seat ventilation are class-leading, ensuring all seven passengers remain comfortable during the intense GCC summer months.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel consumption for the 3.8L V6 averages around 10.4 L/100km, which is efficient for a large SUV during long-distance cruising between cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. While American spec cars may have different warranty terms than those from local distributors, Hyundai's extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia ensures that parts and maintenance are readily available. The Palisade holds its value remarkably well in the GCC, typically depreciating at a slower rate than its European luxury counterparts.

Performance & Capability

The 295 hp produced by the 3.8L V6 engine provides plenty of power for merging into fast-moving highway traffic or carrying a full load of seven passengers. Equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission, the drive is smooth and refined, suited for the well-maintained road networks of the region. While primarily a road-focused family SUV, its drive modes allow for confident handling on gravel tracks and during occasional rainy weather in the Northern Emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The seven-seat layout features second-row captain chairs, creating an executive feel and easier access to the third row. The interior is designed for the heat, featuring powerful multi-zone climate control with dedicated rear vents to ensure the cabin cools down rapidly after being parked in the sun. Acoustic glass and high-quality Nappa leather enhance the quietness and refinement of the cabin, making it a serene environment for family road trips.

Safety

Safety is a primary focus for the Calligraphy trim, which includes a full ADAS suite with Blind-Spot Collision Warning and Lane Keeping Assist—essential for multi-lane highway driving. It also features Highway Driving Assist and a digital rearview mirror to enhance visibility when the vehicle is fully loaded with cargo or passengers. These active systems, combined with a comprehensive airbag arrangement, provide top-tier protection for families across the GCC.

The bottom line

This Palisade Calligraphy is the ideal choice for a family looking for flagship luxury and modern safety tech without the high maintenance costs of a European brand. It is a rare opportunity to own the highest trim level in a standout color, ready for the demands of GCC family life.
