Summary

This 2024 model represents the bold, boxy redesign of the Santa Fe, offering a significant jump in presence and utility over previous generations. As a Smart Plus trim with just 24,000 km, it sits in the ‘sweet spot’ of the market—offering modern tech like the 12.3-inch display while maintaining the balance of a nearly new vehicle. The grey exterior is a highly practical choice for the GCC, resisting the visibility of desert dust better than darker tones and supporting strong resale value. For those needing a seven-seater that doesn't feel like a traditional minivan, this AWD crossover provides a rugged aesthetic paired with refined road manners. It is an ideal pick for families moving between city commutes and weekend highway trips across the Emirates.

This Car vs Other 2024 Santa Fes

With only 24,000 km, this vehicle is tracking slightly below the typical GCC annual average of 25,000 km, making it a fresh option for a one-year-old car. Being the all-new redesigned generation, it carries the latest H-shaped lighting signature and geometric styling that will remain current for years. The grey exterior is one of the top three most requested colors in the region, ensuring it remains easy to sell when you decide to upgrade.

SMART PLUS vs Lower Trims

The Smart Plus trim elevates the experience over base models by adding key convenience features like the hands-free smart liftgate and the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen display. It also integrates Hyundai’s Bluelink connected car system and vital safety upgrades like Blind-Spot Collision Warning, which are often absent on entry-level specs. These additions significantly improve the daily driving experience and are highly valued by buyers in the used market.

Santa Fe vs Segment Rivals

The Santa Fe competes directly with the Kia Sorento and Toyota Highlander, leading with a more daring, boxy design that maximizes vertical interior space. Its flat-folding seat mechanism creates a level load floor that is easier to use for bulky items compared to the more curved cargo areas of its rivals. Additionally, the HTRAC AWD system is tuned for superior stability during the high-speed highway runs common between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.5L engine is designed to run efficiently on regular petrol, helping keep daily costs manageable in city traffic. While this is an American spec vehicle, Hyundai's global parts commonality means that routine service items are widely available through the extensive network of independent workshops across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Owners should expect a standard depreciation curve of approximately 12-15% annually, which is competitive for a mid-size SUV in this category.

Performance & Capability

The 180 hp engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and All-Wheel Drive, providing a composed and steady power delivery. It is built for long-distance cruising and handles the 140 km/h highway speeds of the UAE with excellent stability. The HTRAC system offers selectable drive modes to optimize grip on rain-slicked tarmac or light gravel trails during weekend escapes.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a standout feature of the 2024 redesign, offering genuine three-row seating for seven passengers. For the GCC climate, the dual-zone climate control and dedicated rear air vents ensure all passengers stay cool during peak summer heat. The interior design follows a clean, linear aesthetic with plenty of storage solutions, including a large open area beneath the center console for personal items.

Safety

This Santa Fe comes equipped with a comprehensive safety package including Blind-Spot Collision Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Lane Keeping Assist. These active systems are particularly useful for navigating the fast-moving, multi-lane traffic found throughout the GCC. The inclusion of a high-definition rearview camera and parking sensors adds further confidence when maneuvering this large SUV in tight urban spaces.

The bottom line

This 2024 Santa Fe is a perfect match for a modern family looking for the latest design and seven-seat versatility at a more accessible price point than a GCC-spec equivalent. Its low mileage and high-demand color make it a secure purchase in today's market.
