Summary

This 2024 Infiniti QX55 Essential offers a rare combination of coupe-like styling and high-tech luxury, positioned perfectly with average mileage for a two-year-old vehicle in the GCC. The Essential trim is the sweet spot for the region, adding the ventilated seats and advanced cooling glass essential for local summers. Its striking Blue finish is a distinctive choice that maintains strong presence and resale appeal in a market often dominated by monochrome tones. As a GCC-spec model, it benefits from the full support of the extensive regional service network, ensuring peace of-mind for long-distance driving. For those seeking a premium crossover that stands out from the typical SUV silhouette without sacrificing tech, this is an excellent opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2024 QX55s

With 44,260 km over two years, this vehicle sits exactly at the expected usage level for the GCC market, where annual averages typically range between 20,000 and 25,000 km. Unlike many imported examples, this is a genuine GCC-spec unit, ensuring the air conditioning and cooling systems are optimized for extreme desert heat. The Blue exterior is a premium shade that differentiates it from the fleet-standard white and silver models often found in the used market.

ESSENTIAL vs Lower Trims

The Essential trim provides critical upgrades over the base Luxe model that are highly valued by GCC buyers, most notably the climate-controlled ventilated front seats and acoustic front side glass for a quieter cabin. It also upgrades the tech suite with a 16-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system and the 360-degree Around View Monitor. These features significantly improve daily comfort during high-temperature months and long highway commutes.

QX55 vs Segment Rivals

The QX55 competes directly with the BMW X4 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe, leading with its innovative Variable Compression Turbo (VC-Turbo) engine which balances performance and efficiency better than traditional four-cylinder rivals. While rivals often charge extra for advanced driver aids, the QX55 Essential includes a comprehensive suite of safety tech as standard. Its sliding and reclining second row also provides better rear passenger flexibility than the more rigid seating found in many European coupe-SUVs.

Running Costs & Resale

The VC-Turbo engine is designed to run efficiently on premium petrol, returning a combined fuel consumption of approximately 9.4 L/100km, making it economical for both city traffic and long-distance travel between emirates. Infiniti maintains a strong authorized service presence across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, with standard service intervals every 10,000 km. While European luxury crossovers can depreciate quickly, GCC-spec Infinitis generally hold their value well, typically retaining 80-85% of their value after two years.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0-liter engine produces a robust 268 hp and 380 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in roughly 6.6 seconds, which provides plenty of punch for highway overtaking. The Drive Mode Selector allows you to toggle between Sport and Eco modes, adjusting the CVT and engine response to suit smooth Dubai highways or stop-start Riyadh traffic. With 218 mm of ground clearance, it easily handles gravel tracks and speed bumps, though it remains firmly focused on on-road refinement.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around the dual-screen Infiniti InTouch infotainment system, offering wireless Apple CarPlay for seamless connectivity. The Essential trim's leather-appointed interior is designed for long-distance comfort, featuring driver seat memory and a power-adjustable steering column to ensure the perfect driving position. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated cooling vents, a vital feature for maintaining comfort during the peak GCC summer months.

Safety

The Essential trim is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including ProPILOT Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance for relaxed highway cruising. Standard Predictive Forward Collision Warning monitors two vehicles ahead to anticipate sudden stops, while Rear Automatic Braking and Blind Spot Intervention provide essential protection in fast-moving multi-lane traffic. These active systems are standard on this trim, offering a level of security that often requires expensive packages on competing European models.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec QX55 Essential is the ideal choice for a professional or small family looking for a stylish, tech-heavy crossover that is perfectly acclimated to the regional climate and ready for immediate use.
