Summary

This 2024 Infiniti QX80 is a flagship 8-seater SUV that perfectly balances old-school V8 muscle with modern Japanese craftsmanship. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it features the enhanced cooling systems and regional navigation critical for local ownership and higher resale value in the UAE. The Sensory trim represents the highest luxury tier, offering superior cabin refinement over the Luxe and Premium Select variants. With a powerful naturally aspirated 5.6L engine and body-on-frame durability, this is a premium workhorse suited for both cross-emirate highway cruises and heavy-duty family towing. The Black exterior is a perennially strong choice for the GCC market, ensuring consistent demand when it eventually comes time to upgrade.

This Car vs Other 2024 QX80s

At 60,977 km, this QX80 has been driven approximately 30,000 km per year, which is slightly above the GCC average for luxury vehicles but typical for a long-distance highway commuter. Given its age of 2 years, the mechanical condition of the robust 5.6L V8 remains excellent for the region's high-speed traffic. The Black exterior is the most sought-after color in the GCC used market, offering a significant advantage for future resale value.

LUXE SENSORY vs Lower Trims

The Sensory trim elevates the QX80 significantly above the Luxe and Premium Select trims by adding ventilated front seats and a quilted semi-aniline leather interior, both essential for comfort in the intense GCC summer. It further distinguishes itself with an upgraded 17-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system, a dual-screen rear entertainment setup for families, and the Hydraulic Body Motion Control system for flatter cornering on highway ramps.

QX80 vs Segment Rivals

The QX80 leads rivals like the Lexus LX600 and Cadillac Escalade by offering a traditional, naturally aspirated V8 powertrain that many GCC buyers still prefer for its long-term durability and linear power delivery. Its generous 8-seat configuration provides more usable passenger space than many European competitors, while its extensive regional service network ensures easier maintenance than American-spec imports.

Running Costs & Resale

The naturally aspirated V8 typically consumes between 14.5 and 15.0 L/100km in mixed GCC driving conditions, reflecting its size and power. Being a GCC-spec model, it is fully supported by Infiniti's wide service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with standard service intervals every 10,000 km. While it depreciates slightly faster than the Nissan Patrol it is based on, it holds its value better than most full-size European luxury SUVs in this segment.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this SUV is a 5.6L V8 producing 400 hp, capable of a 0-100 km/h sprint in approximately 6.3 seconds. This power is paired with a heavy-duty All-Mode 4WD system and a massive 3,855 kg towing capacity, making it one of the most capable luxury towers in the market. The body-on-frame construction provides the ruggedness needed for weekend desert excursions or long-distance family trips between emirates.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary designed for the Gulf climate, featuring a powerful tri-zone climate control system with Plasmacluster air filtration. The Sensory trim includes ventilated front seats and heated second-row seats, ensuring comfort for up to 8 passengers across all three rows. Acoustic glass and premium leather upholstery provide a quiet, high-end environment even at high highway speeds.

Safety

Standard safety tech on this trim is extensive, including a 360-degree Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, which is invaluable for parking such a large vehicle in Dubai or Riyadh. It also features Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Intervention, providing an extra layer of safety during long desert highway drives. Lane Departure Prevention and Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection come standard to help mitigate risks in fast-moving urban traffic.

The bottom line

This 2024 QX80 Sensory is the ideal choice for a buyer who wants flagship luxury and V8 reliability without the waiting list of a new model. It represents a mature, well-specced opportunity for a family needing maximum seating and towing capability in the GCC.
